Not even a semi in Wellington. Now I'm scared where the WC qualifier (for mens) will go.

Hopefully it fails in Auckland.

Let Wellington build Football in New Zealand. Auckland has already had their chances.

FFS I hate it how bitter some people are on this forum.

Be thankful we have a world cup in New Zealand...

I would be but they f**ked it up.

I can see how things like the Rugby World Cup finals are held in Auckland, that's because we're not quite big enough. But when it comes to football Auckland has already cocked it up.

Auckland had by far the largest crowds last time a World Cup was held in New Zealand.  They have changed the draw to allow a pool game for NZ here and New Zealand's Quarter final if they make it to that level.

The last All Whites game here had a disappointing turnout (yes, I know there were circumstances) and Auckland's had a good turnout - even allowing for false crowd figures - this is the chance to prove that Wellington is where the play-off match should be.  Not going will give them every right to walk away.

Stop finding excuses and support the event or people have every reason to say 'Wellington don't support New Zealand football'.

agreed- FIFA don't give a f*ck about petty provincialism-they want bums on seats if they are to invest in future Oceania events

Mate get over it.  I'm pretty annoyed that Christchurch doesn't get an NZ game (unless NZ makes the semi's) but I'm still going to the games to do my bit to make it that much more of a success and hopefully see some decent football at the same time.  At least you Wellingtonians have an NZ game so go out there and make the best of it.

There's always one, isn't there?

I have great empathy for all those who are doing something positive for the game in Wellington when someone as naive and myopic as Michael comes along and, with one ignorant outburst, undermines their efforts in such a pathetic and petty-minded way.

JR you don't always have the high ground on open mindedness.

Nonetheless, ridiculous position to take Michael.

Locked.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
