I think our group could be a real "dogfight", no real favourites in this group .
Slovakia " Unknown quantity"
Italy " Slow starters at World Cup"
Paraguay "Capable of brilliance but also flaky"
NZ " Improving every game"

It's not a group of death, more like a group of meh. One clear favourite, an alright one and two worse teams. Group of deaths generally eliminate highly fancied teams, not Slovakia!

Feck, this is a situation of we beat Serbia in a friendly so now we are automatic world beaters.

Please keep your toes firmly fixed on the ground and stay off the weed.

No way.

I think groups like A - with France, Mexico, Uruguay and South Africa will be even. France are so average. Mexico should fancy their chances. Uruguay have speed and decent strikers. South Africa, well they have home support and passion.

These groups are much much tougher than ours. Hard to pick two clear favourites from each

B - Argentina
    Nigeria
    South Korea
    Greece

D - Germany
    Serbia
    Australia
    Ghana

and obviously G - Brazil
                  Ronaldo
                  Ivory Coast
                  ..North Korea

I'm going to be a rank outsider here, and say We'll get 3rd in the group, and then Paraguay will be disqualified after failing a random drugs test, so we progress.

An interesting new formula, which can boast 75% accuracy, has predicted we will finish 2nd to progress to the round of 16 with Italy. You cant help but think its possible... and it also says Serbia are going to make the final!

http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/football/world-cup/3760251/Formula-predicts-who-will-win-World-Cup

"The All Whites have just beaten the finalists of the upcoming World Cup, according to a radical new British formula which predicts Serbia and Brazil to reach the final.

The formula, developed by Stefan Szymanski, professor of economics at the City University in London, together with respected football author, Simon Kuper, is the key ingredient in their new book, Why England Lose.

The theory is mainly based on economic data.

The formula can correctly predict at least 75 per cent of results based on the differences between the countries' GDP (more resources), population sizes (bigger talent pool), experience at the World Cup, and home advantage.

The doubling of the GDP is worth 0.1 goal. Economics aside, however, experience still counts for a lot, with double the experience counting as half a goal. Home advantage is even given greater importance, a whopping two-thirds of a goal, which hands South Africa a decent head start in every game.

According to the theory, Serbia will knock out the US, South Korea and Spain to lose in the final to Brazil.

Interestingly, according to the formula, New Zealand will shock the footballing world and advance from group F alongside Italy, only to be eliminated by the Netherlands. And who would  put it past them on the latest performance?"

I have a ticket for that match - it's my dream too.  Haven't been able to sleep the past couple of nights, actually, thinking about these matches.

I have a ticket for this match, but am fairly f*cked if it happens as i'll have 24 hours to get from JBurg to Durban return to see Argentinas R16 in JBurg and NZ's R16 in Durban!!!
