I'm pretty sure Reid was clipped when he was making that run down the right hand side in the first half..but Batres turned a blind eye. In the second half, Reid was also blatantly elbowed in their penalty area by an Italian.

Perhaps he is trying to influence the refs. After the game and subsequent coverage, much has been made of the Italians going down easy. The ref in the Italia v Slovakia game may well look out for it. Cannavaro, if the comments are true, may just be trying to influence the ref in the Paraguay v All Whites game. Just a thought.

Ever heard of simulation? ie. when someone rests their elbow on your shoulder, youre holding your face (not shoulder, but face!) as though someone's knifed you, falling to the ground crying like a little girl because the pain is so unbearable that your legs cannot sustain, but 10secs later you've magically recovered?
