The problem with having Killen (or for that matter any striker) as the overrage player is that he was never going to get enough ball to have a huge influence. I think a smarter idea would of been to pack the midfield with the best overage players we have, Ivan Vicelich would of been a good player to have had, i'm unsure if he was available or not.

I agree. Too many times Killen was receiving a long ball by himself and being heavily marked so he couldn't do much once he had managed to get the ball under control

Elliot played well in my books. Had a cool head in the middle and always looked to play a passing game

agreed. Killen was a bit disappointng but e had it tough as limited quality ball. also his real strength is using his power in the box, his aerial strength and getting on the end of crosses etc. but we didnt give him very much to feed on.

Elliot was good. composed on the ball. passed well and accurately. some of his first time distribution really stood out. defended and organised well. he's forgotten how to take free kicks though.

Elliot played well except against Brazil (who did play well in that match?), and Killen didn't impress, but apparently he had a really good opportunity against Belgium, but I didn't see it, I had to listen on radio sport.

Agree with what most people are saying about Killen, he was put into a very hard position to do any thing.

I wasn't that impressed by Elliott to be fair and exected more from him. I had hoped he would give us a little parity in the midfield, but it never happened.

Killen didn't do much, but he didn't see much of the ball and when he did was often on his own facing several opposition defenders. I think the comments in other threads sl*gging him off are unfair- after all Chris was the top-scorer in Celtic's reserve team last year (where the players are better than the A League) and Strachan consistantly rated him highly, even giving him a chance in the Champions League against Barcelona (it was Killen's cross that created Celtic's goal against Barcelona- TVNZ showed McDonald's goal but edited out Killen's cross in their 6pm News report).
See the official Celtic website  www.celticfc.net for many favourable reviews of Killen playing for Celtic reserves last season. (At the end of the season, Celtic allow anyone who registers on the website to vote for the club's Supporters' Player of the Season out of anyone in the first team squad. I voted for Chris last season- just because he's a Kiwi and it would be nice for him to get some votes!)
