Dunno what happened to the original posting I made, reminding people about this match, but the outcome in Saitama City saw Japan edge the Football Ferns 2-1.

Not the worst result in the world for the world's 24th-ranked team, given half the first-choice squad is currently sidelined by injuries.

Indeed, lest we forget the top 10 NZ football moments this year include The Ferns beating the Netherlands 2-0 and the under 20 Womens beating Chile and drawing 1-1 with England.
