Get up close and personal with Ricki, Ben and Tim prior to their departure for the World Cup.

Also, get to bask in the glow as Yellow Fever hands over a big ol' cheque to charidy.

And lastly, canapes and drinks, boom.

Those trademe auctions have closed for those All Whites tops signed by the squad.

Tim Brown's match worn jersey versus Bahrain signed by the team, went for close to 3k. And the other two All Whites jerseys signed by the team too went for $550 a piece.

But the funny thing was a Nintendo Wii black edition signed by Norm Hewitt sold for it's retail value of $400. Did his signature de-value the item?

Air NZ auctioned tickets to Melbourne for Mondays game as well at the event.  Another 3k.

Good night.

No, but Key was, and it's doubtful he knows Bertos (or any other footballer) from a bag of onions...

But he's the patron of New Zealand Football? (or something).

It's always hard to tell whether those are genuine associations.  As Tourism Minister it's not a bad thing though, if he could work that angle a bit more.

The nibbles were particularly nice !!!

The answer to life's problems are rarely found at the bottom of a beer glass - but it's always worth a look.

Was a great night.

John Key made a pretty good speech and the WC Haka was actually pretty cool.
