For me tight between Nelsen and Killen. Will give it to Nelsen because we kept the clean sheet.

Nelson. Integral to the team's character and make up.

In terms of other players I thought Paston had a very strange game. Made two fantastic saves but got rounded by the keeper and left the ball from a lob-cross. McGlinchey had a very good game, more of a creater then anyone else in our team, Smeltz doesn't work in this formation he just keeps quiet.

Nelsen, very different side with him in there. Paston, Ivan and Siggy all did well.
You know we belong together...

I actually thought Vicelich did utter crap. In the first half he was kept on getting beaten. Boyens could come in but Vicelich looked good in the air but Boyens is quicker and we need speed at the back not snails.

Nelsen by a mile methinks.
He and siggy made some crucial defensive saves

Nelsen. Closely followed by Paston. Then Killen.

I know it's cliche but in truth the whole team played well.

Three for me, and two for them.

I gave it to Paston. Two very good saves and no mistakes. Under pressure and in tough environment he did bloody well.

Paston did well. As did whole team. Elliot did a good job. Nelsen great in first half at least

Tie with Paston Nelson. Voted Paston, just because i have never voted for him ever before.

Nelsen, second choice Nelsen, third choice Nelsen, fourth is a close tie between Nelsen/Paston/Fallon. I know it's a team sport, but come what may, pray for his fitness over the next month.  Big Sam, look after our man!

Have to give it to Nelsen. I thought McGlinchey did a good job when he came on as did Wood.

What did Killen do? I can't remember him doing anything much...apart from the bicycle attempt that was off target...but that could be the sleep deprivation...

Nelsen was good. Thought McGlinchey was great. None of our strikers got enough time on the ball to do anything, Bertos MOM for me - not. I never want to see him there again

They worked hard...but played well? Only half the team could really claim that

Correct. I did make the post minutes after the game had finished when i was still full of nerves and emotion, which probably swayed me to a far more bias view of how we performed.

Apologies, because you're right, there were areas lacking and watching the replay makes this more evident.

Three for me, and two for them.

the areas were mid-field where Elliot and Brown created nothing.

This guy plays FIFA 10 too much so he thinks that everyone is suppose to create something.

Pastons got 3 clean sheets in a row. Imagine if Moss had stayed at the Phoenix. I am sure we would of lost that game today because I am guessing Paston would not have got a chance to start and would be out of form and may of conceded a few today.

Let's not get into this again. Paston played very well and proved his worth for the team. That's how we should leave it.

Three for me, and two for them.

Sorry the point was, an out of form Paston would of lost the game today.

Oh right. After re-reading your post i understand what you were trying to state in your post. My apologies.

And yes i agree. Although by the same token the Bahraini finishing was woeful.

Three for me, and two for them.

The midfield was our weakness a sore point in our 3-4-3 formation. You really need a very good creative midfielder in the centre of the park in this type of formation not two defensive midfielders in the formation to facilitate the attack more coherently. I believe that McGlinchey is the key player for this role. As soon as he is on, he was able to link up with Smeltz, Wood, Killen, Bertos and Elliot very well. We need him starting next match in Welly ahead of Brown. In the next match when we decide to close up shop, Brown can come in if need. I know that Brown is a Box to box player but he wasn't quite there to make that final pass to the players and McGlinchey definitely can do that as well as being quick to defend. It would be a mistake not to start him next time.

I gave my vote to Paston; did a good sweeping GK job, dived at the feet, closed the angles and made crucial shot stopping saves.

I though Elliot did a good job of keeping the ball on the deck during times when the rest of the side was just kicking it away aerially

brown went horribly missing at times, especially during the entire 2nd half until he was substituted

Siggy for me. Played his best game i've seen him play ever.

Not sure how Paston is getting so many votes. Made a few crucical saves but still flapped several times and looked nervy all round. Still was good, just not MoM good.

Siggy, Nelsen then Paston for me.

Nelsen by a mile.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.
