Surprised no poll yet...

However, Wood for me. This guy is 18 and if he can keep performing like he did last night will not only be a regular starter for the All Whites but looking onwards to bigger European sides.

Brockie, Nelsen, Paston honourable mentions.

Vicelich. Thought he looked very sound and comfortable at the back.

Three for me, and two for them.

My motm was undoubtedly Brockie. Keep him there and Leo on the left so we can finally get rid of Blockhead.

Brockie for me, he made Wood look good imo, although Wood also played well

Wood for sure, he did great up front!

Easily Brockie. Wood was immense but missed too many chances, and it was Brockie that was serving them on a platter for him. Brockie can deliver a good ball, something that can be very useful with our tall strikers. Agree with Hammerhead, I'd like to see Brockie kept in the starting line up, with Kosta coming in to the squad and challenging Bertos for the left hand side. If Brockie can keep up his superb crosses, someone with speed on the other side would compliment him quite nicely.

Brockie. Very impressed with him. Didn't have as much pressure on him defensively as Leo which helped, though.

I went Brockie too. When he ran out I thought he had an oppossum on his head.... He worked hard and his deliveries into the middle were top notch. I don't think I expected that but he is a confidence player - remember when he nutmegged that Brasilian player?

I thought Brockie was a yard short all night.

Wood by a landslide

Grumpy old bastard alert

I went for Wood but only because I'd forgotten about Brockie and didn't scroll far enough down to see his name.  To be honest Wood did well but had a fair few fails and was made to look good by a Honduran defence who didn't even challenge most balls.

Yep, and Leo handled the responsibility very well. I hope Ricki noticed and applies to his Nix game plan. PLEASE.

Oh and I voted Wood, VERY impressive.ScoobyD2010-10-11 07:58:36

finally wood scored, long overdue. he seems to still fluff an incredible amount of oppurtunities though. he was denied a further 2 by excellent keeping, but that other miss was a sitter, and he had a couple of other headers which were pretty weak...

hopefully hes on the way up, it can only start getting better for the lad and i look forward to seeing him have more regular gametime in the future. hes been hard done by in the past by not getting the minutes on the pitch, both internationaly and domesticly.

I went for Elliott, also thought Vicelich had a good game. I was down on the pitch taking photographs and thought Vicelich, Elliott and Nelsen did a lot of talking and organizing which helped Winston a lot. He did get a bollocking a couple of times for being lazy off the ball. Heard the back 3 talking to Brockie a lot who defensively had a pretty bewildered look on his face, Winston was continually correcting Brockies position. However watching the TV replay that looked like Brockies best game for the AW's to me.
Woods looked really good. I have read a far bit of criticism of Killen and Smeltz but from my vantage point I thought they worked really hard and had some quality touches on the ball. I dont think anyone had a bad game.
We will miss Elliott a lot when he quits, I think many will realize how important he was once he has gone.

I think Footpaul was confused because he thought you meant to say Honduras player.

Thats how I read it anyway (cos I was just as confused).

Excuuuuuuuuuuuuse me!!!!!!!!!!!  I don't speak Portugese but I do spell the Country Brasil not Brazil. A quick google shows that many other people use the word Brasilian too, even if not grammatically correct. I will endeavour to improve myself though.

And Hammerhead, thanks for clearing that up - isn't English a funny old language?

I went with Elliottt. Maybe he might have got more votes if it wasn't for his abysmal corners. He plays that brilliant link man role in the midfield though where he always seems to make himself available for a pass be it from the back three or the midfield. The typre of player the Phoenix are missing in the middle of the park.

Amen to that!.. but that's probably a discussion for another thread.

Yeah I had Elliott a close second behind Brockie for MOTM.

Has Elliott ever played an international in Wellington (I'm pretty sure he hasn't). Would be kind of nice if he announced tomorrow is his last game.

He played against Australia in June 2001, in a 0-2 loss in the first leg of the Oceania 2002 WC play-off.

Brockie nutmegged Pirlo before the last Confeds Cup vs Italy.
