Interesting game. Paston quite shakey sadly but the whole team didn't really seem to be there or have the intensity we have had in other games. We had alot of chances which is a good sign. Probably Reid Man of the Match for me, Smith and him played very well. Will make my final judgement after watching the replay.

(despite missing 5-10 mins due to a child and cat stuffing up the cabling! and 10 mins to drop youngster at football)
Reid continues to impress - his distribution and strength when in possession are helping us to play football from the back,
Elliot brought a bit of quality and steadiness in midfield without really opening them up
Lochy got involved going forward in 2nd half
no clear winner - prob shaded by Reid overalltigers2010-06-05 12:53:06

Decided to lob one in for Smith. How good is it when a young new lad comes in and isbarely noticed because he is so sound? Haven't seen one slip-up in three matches.

reid looks strong and some of those fouls could of gone either way. Nelsen ever strong with or without a number!! Fallon keeps popping up and annoying teams but where was Smeltz very quiet game got the ball twice in great positions but tried to step his players and open up space to his right but got the ball taken off him....

I think Reid gives away too many needless fouls, which could cost us in South Africa where refs are going to be a lot less lenient.

Smith and Fallon impressed me most - gave Smith my vote though.

I think I will vote for Smith. He has really been impressive so far and very consistant.

Think back 3 unit look very competitive.
Paston in need of an injection of confidence and quickly.
Would have liked to see a bit more use of bench as do not think performances of Bertos, Loch and Smeltz were that great not to want to try something else.

I am also going for Smith, I remember thinking a few times, it'll be ok, Smith is there, or he will cover it. Surprised to feel so confident after only seeing him play 3 games (or 4 Mexico??)
Good games by Fallon, Lochy, and I also thought Wood was good, I think once he gets his first goal for us he will be away. I think this is the best team I have seen on the park for us. We make chances consistently, a bit of luck and we might get a result in the Cup.

Reid. He covers so much ground it's ridiculous, completely sound at the back, his yellow was ridiculous. If you look at Fallon's goal, Reid was there lurking in the middle and he almost got one himself from the Elliot free kick. He's Quality.

Yeah, I'm getting more and more impressed with young Wiremu - had a few dodgy moments, but had a sublime moment this morning which still sticks in my memory.
He read a Slovenian pass heading towards our box, stepped in front of the attacker and intercepted, and then carried the ball at good pace to the halfway line and then switched it into space for Lochy on the left flank. The whole thing probably only lasted 5 seconds, but oozed class.
