People are saying as a hard rumour that  NZ all whites,    was invited to the COPA AMERICA in ARGENTINA , since JAPAN retired the team  on saturday

is that correct.?

DO YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT IT ?  from nz football or HERBERT?

did anyone else hear on the news yesterday that we were invited to participate in the Copa America but we declined as it wasn't in a FIFA window. I'm a bit disappointed that some of the younger players could have had a shot at international football. Having said that it may not do them very good it we got hammered in every game. Still any experience is better than none.

If the above is true, then good on NZF for turning them down. Playing in that tournament with a very understrength team could do great harm to our rising international reputation.

I see what you're saying there AM, and while I agree to a point, we aren't going to improve if we don't get involved in these tournaments. These invitations don't come round very often, and it may not come again.   The AW's need more games and don't we want to see them more on the international stage? Maybe money was a factor as well, who really knows. Anyway is a dudd issue now I suppose. Sometimes I think the risk is worth it.

Given a lot of the those "up and comings" players will be involved in the buikld up to the Under 20 WC it's probably a good call.
