I expect Senegal will fail to beat Colombia & Israel will fail to beat Japan tomorrow, and that will be enough for us to sneak in to round of 16. But what's the point? We will likely get smashed by another group winner the same way we are being smashed now. This is night and day from the 2019 team. If Darren had any sense he would have handed the reins to Paul Temple to focus on his interim senior role and that would have provided NZF with less evidence that he is not up to it
Bazely has not drilled in positioning at all. They're found constantly obstructed on the ball and unable to make and execute passing lanes. Forced to hoof it. Fundamental!!
well well well my men, they are mocking on the broadcast in ARG about the nz footballers look too tall too skinny for football, and that none of them will make it professionally but the gk and number 6 and the number 14,
tbh BAZELEY showed he is not tactician, if argentina goes 4-2-1-3 you try to win the midfield and from there, nz sat deep, and 3-0 goals scored by BAZELEY TACTICS so far, Mascherano is not a tactic genius but BAZELEY made him look like if he was Martin O'Neill or red nose ALEX F
on the bright side the gk is ready for all whites so far, and consagratory performance so far, big team will go after him I GUESS the sweadish club is gonna milk it out with some summer money !!
well they problems were the flanks number 3 was never helped by number 7 and the right back the same
garbett and fay were not existance, but the defeat is in the hands of your coach, the main difference is the level they are playing, no tenacity no urgency, no kicking around they looked overwhelmed by the situation and event
I'm worried bazeley will have bamboozled his way into the all whites job with a draw and a win. I cant help but shake the feeling NZ football and trying to just sort of transition him into full time coach
no way after today, he got himself out of the main job, lame tactic aproach when we chose 4-2-1-3 , we were too open you gave us the pitch and the ball
Sims and Herdman are the only ones who showed up today and looked like they belong out there (hard to judge Surman with the quality of defenders around him and a calf injury).
You'd think playing infront of this many fans (likely a once in a lifetime experience for most of the guys out there, if you are honest) and scouts watching would be motivation to work harder. Sure it's mostly technical and tactical, but you can't play Argentina with the intensity of a training run.
Even 5-0 (writing this in added time) as is flatters us, Argentina could of scored a few more if they wanted but took the foot off the accelerator/subbed their best players.
Wait until Bazely spins this as good tactical adjustments to have an improved second half! (only conceeding 2 instead of 3).
Look at the intensity herdman is putting out compared to the rest. Night and day. Donkers gets the ball, takes his touch 15m to the sideline and let's it roll out. No one expected us to win, or even lose by less than 3 but the effort was deplorable.

mascherano sent miramón all over conchie who is nz football outlet, the number 7 of nz was of no existence, argentinian broadcasters are joking that we have defeated the TALL WHITES since most players looked basketball players but number 6, too skinny and tall
Not sure why anyone is even surprised by this result. Argentina have far more physically superior, technically and skilfully and they almost play a different sport. Meanwhile NZ look skinny and not developed, make poor decisions or struggle with the technical aspects of the game. Argentina have players in juventus, Lazio, and those who play domestically are starters in the Argentinian league which is one of the better ones outside Europe. What’s disappointing from a NZ perspective is seemingly lack of intent though, as Uzbekistan attacked them and should have tied and could have won. Not sure if I saw anything from today and last few games to suggest NZ will progress further then round of 16. Overall though the difference in quality should surprise no one
Hugely disappointly game, but really, group stage is par for the course. Beat the team we were expected to beat, drew the team we thought was pretty even and lost to the team we expected to beat us.
For us to now reach the knockouts we only need one of the following: - Senegal not to beat Colombia - Brazil to lose to Nigeria - Uruguay-Tunisia not a draw - Honduras not to beat France
Round of 16, as the 3rd placed team in Group A, we will either play Group B winners USA or Group C winners very likely Colombia.

JAVIER MASCHERANO after match's presser " i didnt expect nz to sit so deep in the first half since they scored in both matches" on nz yes most looked basketball players, from the defenders the best were surman linder and the leftback, but yes most of nz players havent tried wiener schnitzels for a long time , messi's fav meal, they looked too tall too skinny
