December 3 has been and gone , Yet there is still no word whether
NZOC and NZF will have a mens or womens team at Beijing ?.
Does anyone have info on where the NZ Olympic teams
stand?

I haven't heard anything either. I certainly hope we have a mens
and womens team.

Fingers crossed... I'd rather watch more than just the rowing and
the road cycling.
Though I guess I can always support the Olyroos if push comes to shove...

Ive been told there wont be any Confirmation until April 2008 where
as NZ will have any (football)teams at the Olympics. Its purely in
the NZOC hands.
I guess the mens Olympics team will play its qlfy matches -
And if they do come out as the Oceania winners they wont no if
there going. Pretty suxful on behalf of the NZOC putting NZF in
limbo?

We have been told by the NZOC that both teams must win their
qualifying competitions and also demonstrate that they can make the
second round at the Olympic Games. For the men, winning the
qualifier may be enough given that it is in Fiji against
competition that will be pretty challenging. For the women, as
winning against PNG will not really prove anything, we will need
good results elsewhere. We are hopeful of playing Australia two or
three times in early March - with a full-strength squad and proper
preparation, that may well be where we look to get those "good"
results. The upcoming tour to China may be too difficult as we are
missing about seven of the World Cup team.

Thxs for the feedback Seatts.
Yet one would think the Football Ferns would have a better
chance with the NZOC since they have performed quiet well in all
age groups competition, I mean they havent won alot of high profile
games but where far from being disgraced and would only advance in
there performance at big event (well in the eyes
of supporters maybe not NZOC).
