We are coming from out of town for the game and have all of Saturday free.

I have read bits and pieces here about rumoured possible events in the build up to the 6:30pm gate opening.

Does anyone know what is confirmed for the date in the buildup? I am happy to edit this post as new information/events come to hand.

And what happens before kick-off at RoF after 6:30pm opening?

Events:

1130hrs Football Freestyle Event @ Civic square in the City Centre off Victoria St, one back from Willis.

1600 Team Wellngton game @ Newtown Park, hop on almost any bus going towards Courtney Place to get there (no doubt bars doing buses)ahmad2009-10-27 20:41:32

Could you please also specific the exact locations for out of towners such that we can look them up on Google maps?

Cheers.

So there are busses to and from the Wellington Auckland game right? Will there be enough seats or do you guys think we should make our own plans. We have a large group and most seem keen to catch the game.

Unfortunately the #10 bus to Newtown Park does not run on the weekends, which is a shame.

You can take #1, 3, 11, 22, 23, 43/44 from the CBD and get off at Newtown, and walk up to Newtown Park.

Would anyone be interested in bus transport for the Newtown Park?

I wonder if we would have enough to charter a bus?

At this stage the Fever will be running buses there.  Just working on the logistics at the moment.

If you're looking for a post-qualification after-party you could do worse than head along to 24 Hour Party People at San Francisco Bath House on Cuba Street.

I hope the team stays behind after the game for the fans - is this likely after they have fulfilled their MSM requirements?

You would have 2 hours to get from Newtown to the Stadium, you could even walk it if you needed to...nobody going to Newtown Park should be concerned about being late for the AW's game basically.

$10 only!

I find it's Kiwis that are loathe to pay such charges, us Brits are used to being ripped off paying cover charges getting into pubs / clubs

If we win the $10 to get into 24HPP will be a drop in the ocean compared to all the alcohol that gets sunk that night!

Well you'd think so, but I am already thinking of my whingeing argument to persuade people to go because usually as soon as I say it's $10 to get in I get a resounding NO!

MSM?

Post-match, I reckon the players will stay out to applaud the fans. If the result goes well, there'll probably be kit and stuff thrown into the crowd - all the usual stuff you get from winning a cup final!

Otherwise, probably be out for a bit to applaud the fans and then go in to drown sorrows.
