Not sure how many of you know the NZ under 17 side has a couple of games against the Chilean under 17 side. First game was at North Shores ground on Friday night. A 0-0 draw with both sides being pretty well matched. Sorry I dont know who many of the players are but the best player on the park for either team was a kid called Zane. An absolute standout. To be honest in the second half I thought the NZ were the better side. Next game is a curtain raiser for Waitakeres home game on Sunday.

Three for me, and two for them.

Zane Sole would be the boy... sounds like he may be snapped up by a NZFC side in the next few days.

Lost 1-0 Friday and 3-0 on Sunday (missed that game too)
Crowd was 500 for the TW-
Waitak match, so not sure how many of those turned up early for the U-17 match.

Zane has signed for Waikato, apparently, (along with first ever Yellow Fever Youth Scholarship winner, Dan Finlay).

Alex Carr organises well, talks a lot and is smart with his decision making.
He is a penalty shoot-out specialist and has safe hands. If it came down to a penalty shoot out, Alex would have the edge.
Coey Turipa is also a good keeper, has safe hands and has the edge with a better kick than Alex.
They are both good keepers so perhaps you might like to toss a coin on this one.

Either would be ok in the qualifers, both have different strenghts as pointed out
However height is going to be important if they make it through to Nigeria
You don`t see any 16 year old goalkeepers under 6ft at any of the major english club sides

Yes. Alex is still only 15 though and does not turn 16 till March. Coey however turns 17 next month so is nearly 13 months older than Alex.
