I remember once he played at Newtown Park and the ground announced announced him as "A sh*te". Brilliant.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Is that because in the past Karori took the same approach to their mens' teams that they now take to their wimmins' premier team?

Having worked with him when he was new in the coaching circles, I would say yes. He was even younger than I was at that top local coaching level, making me second youngest and him looking better for it. He was much more switch on than I was at times which impressed me.
He has a lot to offer and he does know the Director of Football Development/White Ferns coach John Herdman when there was the coaches for coaches courses in Football South, so I expect some solid continuity across the players, coaches and development pathways. He does have very good talent eye on good players abilities. He has ideas of making available more high leveled coaching for more players to lift the overall playing level up. He does not want to leave players of great potential being left 3 or 4 years behind of what their development should be if they had better access to the high level development. In other words, there should more well developed players completing for fewer All Whites spots because of the greater playing depth and this goes back to overall lift in development and structure. I suspect he will address this "problem" somehow in the role he is in now.
I believe that he and Andy Boyens go back to the Dunedin Technical's central back pairing, although I tend to have my years mixed up.
