Girls, keep the chins up, you did yourselves proud. All the very best for the next two games. Same effort and you must come away with something to show. Enjoy the tournament to the max.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

WOW what a spectacle that was to kick off the tournament. That had all the feel of a world cup finals game mens or womens. The way the game was played was simply beautiful all the team should feel so proud on how how they played.
Take that confidence and passion into the next two games and you will give New Zealand every chance of advancing to the Q/Fs.
GO GIRLS!!!!!!

Saw them at the stadium today, they were there to keep an eye on the Colombians and the Danes. for when they whip the Danes on Saturday (I hope).

You were great last night girls, and looking at today's game, you're in with a good chance.  Go for it, get it, and celebrate.

Great team effort with some individual flashes of brilliance..commentator even compared one effort to Ronaldinho!  Keep it flowing and the fans will come again as will the results

Congratulations on a great effort last night. You  represented yourselves and New Zealand fantastically on the world stage.
Go all out again in the next two games and I'm sure the results will come.

Outstanding effort ladies, unlucky not to get a draw or even win.....but you have captured our hearts, and the nations attention, and we are all behind you for your next two matches.

We'll be there in full voice to cheer you on against Columbia next Tuesday and good luck vs the Danes at the weekend.

Proud of you all, and you played very good football.

Ive always had a pretty average opinion of womens football, but thought id watch the game against Canada anyway. Bloody impressed.
Kiwi girls looked good, some really nice football being played, and I have no doubt that if they keep their chins up they can make the quarters.

The overzealous mod drunk on both a Thursday night session at 12.31am and power.

Except the Mod in question was at his desk at a London law firm, so was dead sober and an excellent judge of what is and isn't appropriate.

We may know Harry's age, but an ill-informed journalist looking in here won't and we know the record of some of that profession in these circumstances.

That's true. Am I right in saying if they defeat Colombia it will be the first win for a NZ team at a (football) world cup?

Nope. NZ beat Poland 2-1 in the 99 U17 World Cup held here.

Three for me, and two for them.

I have been absolutely stunned by how good our Young Ferns have been. I'm really looking forward to being at the match on Tuesday to give them the support they have earned with their performances so far.
