Belarus 1 nil up 47th minute

Corner played short to the corner of the 18, first time lob to the back post where Smeltz was trying to mark two and bundled in.

This is the Belarus B team. NZ not looking good. If teams press us, we are in trouble

If we are going to play like this in the Confederations Cup, then it will be a huge embarrassment

Only been watching since 30mins in but this midfield is a joke. Rojas and Thomas are both clearly natural wingers and probably would be our most likely to create chances for Wood but they're wasted in the middle. The 5-3-2 might be great for bus parking but it doesn't really tally well with the fact that wingers are one of our strengths. No wonder we resort to long balls constantly.

That's harsh.

TeeDubs and ACFC would probably dispatch us easily on this form

This. I have the feeling that with the 5-3-2 it doesn't matter if Rojas and Thomas play as central midfielders, offensive mids or centre forwards, they are just wasted anyway. And also, how is Tuiloma not a starter? He's the only genuine DM we have, and vital to our slim chances of not getting totally thrashed in the Confeds

Amen.

I think at the very least our midfield needs to have one of Tuiloma or Themi in it at all times or else it's just too lightweight

Hudson has to go. What a mess of a team the Confed Cup games are going to be a horror to watch unless a mircal happens.

LOL before this friendlies I was expecting us to get a draw or even a win at the Confeds, now I'm scared of thinking how many goals we are going to concede

The midfield needs more than weemac and a couple of wingbacks and wingers. It will be interesting to see Hudson's after match spin..

Permalink Permalink

I think we need to resort back to 4-4-2. I would like to see Ingham playing over colvey and some steel in midfield. Barbar or Rojas playing close to Wood.

Another poor performance which will be glossed over with statements about building to the Confeds and how it was only a narrow loss to quality European opposition and blah blah blah.

Can we accept now that the games against the US and Mexico were anomalies and not actually indicative of some Hudson master plan coming together?

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

My positive spin on it is that Hudson didn't want to show our hand to the Russians. We deliberately played without the ball so they couldn't see what we would do.
