Shame for the womans team losing 3-0 and 5-0 to Canada.

Canada lost 6-2 or 6-1 to the USA just before they came out to play us.

I think we have a pretty young team but it is a bit worrying for the girls. They have a lot of work to do in the next few months.

They are playing some warm up games against Australia and then the USA.

Lets just pray that Denmark are rubbish so we can get some sort of result or a goal when they meet them in the World Cup finals. I dont fancy our chances against Brazil and hosts China( who have probably been training some girls since they were 2 years old for this world cup).

The two away Australian games will be a real tester as well.

If we build it, they will come...

Just saw highlights on the news. Not good. Hopefully they will improve (fast). Very young team and Herdman is a good coach. They should be OK.

What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?

I don't really follow the women's game but the fact that there are 15 and 16 year olds in the NZ team shows that plans are being made for well ahead of this tournament. I can see it being really tough going for them but hopefully it'll be a useful learning experience.
Nix, Leyton Orient and Alloa Athletic supporting schmuck.

Are they looking that far out- look at the age spread of the team. It would be good to have the support of the wiser heads(older) but to truly look that far out the whole squad should be the under 20 one and look at the older(wiser) players from within the National federation squads to damage themselves playing over there heads against # 10 in the world.

Go the WWC squad. More games more tips and tricks learnt this can only be a winner for NZ.
China 2007 they have drawn a tough pool and will go in under no illusions that they must give 110% for 110% of the games.

Don't quote me on this but until a New Zealand Network buys the 2010 World Cup rights no one will have the rights to screen any world cup footage in NZ- Just News items. NZF are working on this and are confident we will at least have NZ games on a free to air network.
