So, who's going? I'm starting to feel tempted.

Is there another thread about this game somewhere on the forum?

That's one of those; "When we spoke to Edgar, he agreed to play straight away. Just after he read his cheque" moments.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

This fixture is a joke and CNUT's blog on Stuff.co.nz sums it up.

Auckland is one year too late, they needed to do something better than the Galaxy as Wgtn had done the same thing ( if not better) a year ago.
Well done to the phoenix for not getting to involved with this debacle this time round.

Also goes to show the incompetence of the Oceania Football Federation - I say Asia....NOW!!!

I say tackle him in the face.

Cheapest was originally $85, I think

It's a blind panix Salmon.  They are copping earache across the media for offering half price or 2 for 1 ticket deals from those who already bought them, and the ARC are copping earache for under-writing it when the money is seen as better spent.

I can't believe the negative attitude of some people on this website, this the MOST important football game in the history of universe!

And you call yourselves football fans!

Do me a favour, El Grapadura!

The most important football game in the history of the universe is, and always will be, LFC's next fixture, whoever it's against. (Blackburn away at 4am on Sunday, as it happens).

To those going to Mt. Smart, enjoy the spectacle, and the same to those watching it on Prime. But I've absolutely no doubt that, unlike me, you'll be missing out on the best show in NZ this weekend - Jordin Sparks and Alicia Keys at Vector Arena! :-))

from a purely selfish POV i want it to succeed-if another local govt sinks money into a failed evnt it does not augur well for wgtn: events capital, nor other local govts using events to attract $$ or enhance communities.

- i just wish they'd come up with a more original, or well planned concept- for example (and this has been said elsewhere) the homeless word cup is a great football event- spend money on something intelligent and worthwhiule rather than exhibition match with a bunch of (admittedly very good) has beens...

I will still watch it on prime tv i think, everyone loves car crash tv

Jordin Sparks? You taking the piss? Alicia Keys maybe but Jordin Sparks?

I'm actually feeling embarrased watching this.

Three for me, and two for them.

I think those tickets were $120.

This is worse than a pre-season Perth vs Newcastle fixture.

$120 BUCKS it's on the other side of the field, what a silly price to be expected to pay no wonder it's empty

1st half highlights:

1. Bosnich whining like a man whose dealer is holding out on him.
2. Beckham's drive on the volley in the first 5 minutes.
3. ummm

Nup that's it.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Are the refs getting paid by the freekick? I can understand why Bosnich and others are getting a bit pissed with the ref.

Bosnich still looks pretty sharp (and hes lost some weight so hes only size  XXXXL now).
Loving the passion Davids shows, good example for kids, it might  only be a friendly but put the effort in likes its a cup final.

Not a great game but its football and its on NZ tv during prime time, like a ring worm footballs slowly  eating its way under the medias skin

Not to bad, not enough ball to do to much. For the little ball he's getting Smith looks quite handy.
