So, does that mean Williams will be our keeper? Also Piney said Smeltz, Rojas and Barbarouses will all miss first game because of ACL.

That's not how this works... if NZF did their job properly Smeltz and Barba would have to be released by clubs since the tournament in an international window.

Goal Keepers = 4 caps

Defenders = 20 caps with Boxall being 14 of them.and 5 making up the rest

Midfielders = 52 caps with WeeMac being 33 of them and 6 making up the rest

Forwards = 161 caps

Yes they should have, but sounds like they played nice at let them come to late.

The ONC doesn't fall in a FIFA window - it's the only confederation championship that doesn't

Keeps a good relationship between club and country. Seems like a good move to me

He's a pretty good keeper though, isn't he? I think he's pretty good - not that has any bearing on it.....

Yes it does. There's an outdated version of the FIFA Calendar on the FIFA website, but the actual one has the ONC listed as a window.

Totals, aye.

But in defence, Boxall is most of those 20 caps on 14.

In midfield WeeMac is over 60% of the caps by himself.

Attack, aye, we're good. But man, do we look shaky at the back.

No Watto? He mustn't earn enough.

It's a non-mandatory window, meaning clubs don't have to release players

I was saying that as I just didn't know. So used to Moss being between the sticks and bit light in my knowledge of the up and coming keepers.

Also it's good to see they won't be playing a game every 2nd day like 2012

So what's our strongest eleven out of that?

I'd probably go for a front three of Kosta/Wood/Rojas, but no idea what that backline would look like.

Is the greek dude really a mid? I thought he was a CB?

What's with calling Dura back into the fold and then not selecting him? I know his form has been a little off but surely his experience would count in that backline? Not a Hudson yes-man?

the might Onehunga Sports!

5 from the Phoenix and 3 from them. And apart from McG none of the Phoenix players are guaranteed starters at the club.

That is a bit of a sad list of clubs compared to at some stages.

Makes you really wonder if the Scandinavian leagues can be THAT bad.

Still, here's hoping they can do the job in the islands.

Maybe one or both of them decided it wasn't the right call

I'm a Lewis fanboy tbh, bags of potential there,

Themi for Brotherton, ok. Just leaves our bench a little empty of experience if needed.

Why is Moss out?

Permalink Permalink

Definitely the worst defence ever assembled for a tournament.  Seriously would that even be a good ASBP defence?  Can only think of the Confeds where we got beat 5-0 by Spain and Nelsen was injured.  Think we had the infamous Steven Old/Andy Boyens marking Torres

What is up with Moss's eye?

Actually, on the whole that's one of the worst All Whites sides ever for a tournament

Moss' eye injury is because he can't stand to look at the defence he'd have in front of him.

I think Dura was rank this year so not too surprised about that.  People on here are loyal to him but he was pretty bad

On this theme, Williams and Marinovic are pretty good - the AWs wont mostly miss Moss maybe
