are they even "good" club sides really? I mean, the Victorian and NSW state leagues are generally touted as the best at that level in Aussie, so would mid-table teams in Queensland be that good? Are we talking Central League type of level here? Better? Worse?
Far from me being an apologist for NZF, but there's no need to read too much into those games - the main purpose is really to get the guys playing together again, get most of the squad involved, and avoid injuries. To what extent all that was achieved - not sure, but I don't think that reading too much into the score lines, level of opposition, etc, is a great indication of where things really are.
