NZ win, South Korea lose to Romania, and we are through to the quarters with a game to spare.

If there is a change. Elliot for Ingham?

FYI - the Honduras senior side have a CONCACAF Gold Cup quarter final against Mexico in Arizona, also on Sunday. So their U24 side in Japan, must be far from full strength. The senior team finished 2nd in their group to Qatar, an invitee to the Gold Cup.

Given Ingham's quite ordinary game against Korea, I think Elliot deserves a chance to start.
Hopefully it would improve his club stocks.  Is he currently without a club (is without according to transfermkt)?  Might be back for Nix?

Don't the two best 3rd place teams from the groups get a chance at going through?

Ok so there isn't any room for mistakes, nothing else but a win it has to be.

No could still go through with a win or loss, depending on other results.
But Honduras shape as the weakest team in the group, so I'm sure they are targeting a win.

New Voerman article up on the Stuff website this afternoon about our improving results at men's FIFA tournaments from 2015 on and previewing the Honduras game.
Some good analysis and stats there in a wide-ranging study:

Yes, it's all true.  We are getting relatively better all the time, from the bottom up.
A product of a focus on development from early years perhaps, or is it a coincidence, a golden era for NZ football?

So the Olympics are locked behind PPV in NZ? In Australia its on FTA but most is via Ch7 online.

The match may also pop up on TVNZ, there's nothing else on involving Kiwis at 8pm, so I imagine it will.

When you can pay just $25 for access to *everything* from the Olympics, I'm not sure it's 'locked behind' anything.

You want tax dollars to pay for the broadcasting of the Olympics or the private sector to foot the bill @Royz/nomates/poco? I'm happy enough to pay for the sky Olympics package and stream it and only have the important events on state television.

From FIFA
Lancashire lads

Two goalscoring heroes based in the north-west of England will be looking to reprise their matchday 1 heroics. Everton’s Richarlison scored a stunning half-hour hat-trick to give Brazil a dream start in their quest to retain gold. Equally, Burnley poster-boy Chris Wood was the match-winner for a hitherto unheralded New Zealand, and a reprise of that feat could see the Kiwis land a quarter-final berth.

TVNZ guide says they will have the OlyWhites on from 8pm till 10pm.  I am sure it will be interspersed with crosses to other sports as it usually is the case, but most of that slot should be the Olywhites game.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Not a good start, Reid looks done.  Hopefully we shift back to a 4-3-3 as it looks like we are set up at as a 3-4-3/5-4-1 again.

We’ll just have to score more goals than Honduras to make up for the lack of Reid

I did think when he was with Phoenix he was close to scoring several more, always had a good strike, but never came off like that!
