Radiosport host and avid football fan Miles Davis and a few others have recorded a song and it is brilliant.

Going to be released by Universal in the near future, when it is GET IT.

It's class.

Heard it on the Radio today, seemed like a good song but no offence to Miles wouldn't it of been better to have a Kiwi singing it?

Yes, but I reckon he'll get grumpy about anyone suggesting that.

He's done all the work and put it together, but it dooes somewhat underline the stereotypical image some have of the game here.

Yeah, good on him. I think he does more for the profile of Football in the mainstream media than any others and I didn't realise he had put the whole thing together. So massive kudos to him.

Maybe would have been worthwhile getting his old mate Devlin on board, though im guessing the whole Radio Sport B Sport thing would have come up.

Apparently will be on the TV1 News tonight.

Everyone has to learn this. It would be cool if we could actually all learn this and get some singing going at the game.

haha good song, ridiculous but good attention grabber. Miles David does good work.

Botafogo - Rio de Janeiro and Wellington Phoenix, my two teams til death do us part.

fair player to the guy for doing it, but it is a bit too "oi oi geezer" for me - it is supposed to be a NZ song.

Also don't like the All White Barmy Army part at all, either.  Taking tunes or whole chants from english (or anywhere else, for that matter) and making them relevant to our team is fine, but naming ourselves after an english supporters group (from a completely different sport, no less) is a step too far.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked

Now I'm firefly like a burning kite

I agree it is a little "english" but nobody else has bothered making a song so let's go with it.

Miles is a hard out supporter, and a lot of the footy lovers here are poms ( more so in '82) so all good, but yeah that chant at the end was a bit too much.

love this song ... leave davis alone the guys simply showing his passion for football  and that he is genuinely interested in NZ qualifying for the world cup ... 30000 people singing this at the ring of fire would be epic.

i think the song is as good as 3 lions not quite as good as world in motion. Could get the chant going on the terraces also. Oooonne shot for glory. Brilliant. If we make it to the finals it will be huge

Couldn't agree more...Davis backs his team proudly and loudly and if he wants to be the focal point of a (catchy) song (easy to sing), then good on him for getting the ball rolling...

Eric Young dissed him (and the song) in yesterday's Star-Times - pr*ck, his page is the worst in that newspaper, just because you read the news on Prime shouldn't give you the right to have a full page in the SPORTS section of a National Newspaper...never liked him...

I hate to sound incessant, but do you know what would really get me going?
30,000 people yelling Ka Mate at the Bahrainis.
I don't care if it's a rugby thing. They've never done THAT with it.

Sounds a lot like the Cockney Rejects to me. No surprises there I suppose!

Sorry but cant stand the one shot for glory song. Im not going to the game, but i think people
should sing "marching off to SA" or any other chant.

But the one shot for glory song does nothing for me personally.

Is this the song that's been on the TV adverts? Not a fan of that one at all to be honest!

Trying to come up with a great football song is pretty tough though I must admit, there's not many out there!
