Well it might be over, we went through the tournament undefeated. We finished higher than current cup holders and world number 5 Italy. I am so damn proud of the 23 players and our coaches. They achieved more than we hoped for. I mean, we wanted them to win so we could progress? before the tournament we were hoping for just a point. Well we got 3.

Well done lads. Well done to those fans that travelled too. They were everywhere on TV. 2010 - The Year Football seriously matured for New Zealand.

Even the Travelling Wilburys had a song..... "End of the Line" ?...

Well it's all white, running around in the breeze
Well it's all white, if you live the football life you please
Well it's all white, doing the best you can
Well it's all white, as long as you are from New Zealand

I've never been prouder to be a Kiwi. Everything the All Whites stood for out there reflects what I love about this country. Determination, heart, resourcefulness, fair play and passion. All Whites till I die.

We went through the tournament undefeated.

We drew with the current cup holders,

We drew with a team ranked 5th in the world, another couple ranked much higher than our 78th position.

We finished higher than the Current World Champions & 5th ranked team in the World.

No complaints, just pure pride for the Players, the coaching & staff that accompanied them, the travelling fans from NZ that went there.

We did not shame ourselves with cheating/diving/brawling or abusing. It might not have been pretty but it was honest.

So proud of our fellas. We were laughed at coming into the tournament. We were meant to be World Cup doormats. We were meant to be the cute team that runs about for a bit, but ultimately ends up with no points.

Sorry to quote Robbie Deans, but "A champion team will always beat a team of champions"
The way we played, our structure at the back, our enthusiasm, effort and sheer determination were second to none. I'll be telling my grandkids about this group of lads someday. So grateful to atleast be part of it on Nov 14. This will go down as one of the greatest periods of my life, and I'm sure I'm not alone on that.

Well done, New Zealand. Well done.

it just shows Pride and Passion = everything. Skill is just a minor factor. We played for the shirt while some other teams and players just play for money.

Nice sig Oska. You can see those qualities in the face of that man Ryan Nelsen.

I loved 82, it was so good to be cheering NZ in the cup, and it's been a long wait till now for another dose of Cup fever.

This team has exceeded all my expectations threefold. I hoped we might nick a point, we got 3 and were pushing for more.

We never looked out of place, we were never desperate, we played fully up to our skill levels, we played with pride, we played honestly, we were a showcase for the way the game can be played, with integrity

I take my new All Whites hat off to the team and all the management, thank you one and all, thank you, thank you, thank you

LG says it all really. I've waited all my life for football to get this high a profile - '82 wasn't as big as this has been - and sincerely hope that the foundations have been laid for my boy to play a sport that is taken seriously by all NZers.

Yeah, that's the most pleasing part about this. To all those people who publicly questioned NZ's right to be there after they qualified.... all gone quiet over there!

The day after and it all seems kinda flat now. I hope the NZFA release a DVD/s on the game/s so we can again soak up the terrific atmospheres.

We came, we saw, we made a lot of friends and we got respect from fellow countries.

Even in exiting the WC, the players can think of what might have been...But I suggest, they instead focus on what has been. Look back and realise just how significant those three performances are.

Not just to us, but to the rest of the football world. Who expected Italy out and Slovakia or Paraguay though?

Now if Football New Zealand grab this by the horns, there is no excuse not to make progress. Rugby, League, Football - All three can happily co-exist in this country but I see no reason that New Zealand cannot excell at all three sports.

I'm sitting here in Australia very misty eyed that this particular dream is over.  But, much like the arrival of the Wellington Phoenix and the end of each of our seasons, I see it as another massive step towards the ultimate dream.  I'm very, very, very, very sad it's over, but I am amazingly proud of our lads.  I'm sitting here listening to Welcome Home by Dave Dobbyn... every now and then I get enormously morose and sentimental about being a Kiwi and missing being home, and right now is one of those times.  I would love to be back there breathing this all in.

One very, very proud and awe struck Kiwi says god bless the All Whites.

I have very little doubt that whilst the other 31 teams would have approached us in a professional manner, at the same time they would no doubt have thought "oh we'd love to draw New Zealand in our group..."

In the back of our minds, I guess we all feel a little sad that we didn't qualify for the Round of 16, after the wonderful journey we've been on in the past month...but before the tournament, who would've thought?!

Edit: @LG

Yeah that's what conorphelan's saying. Hoping a team that has lost a game win's the world cup so we'd be the only undefeated team.

Has been posted elsewhere but if a team goes out on penalties that has not lost a game, they will also technically be undefeated because a loss on pens goes down as a draw. So we wouldn't actually be the only 'undefeated' team.    TopLeft072010-06-27 20:14:07

Read his message again. He wants Spain or Germany to win, so that NZ would be the only undefeated team across the entire tournament.

He should also add that he wants Paraguay, England, Brazil, Portugal, Uruguay, Argentina, Netherlands (the undefeated teams who remain) to lose before penalties - officially that would mean a draw for their results and points co-efficient.
