Mulligan probably will, and possibly Pelter, but I can't see any English team getting Elliot.

I'm interested in your Elliot comment LG,

do you think he wants to leave England or is it more that you are thinking that English clubs won't be keen on him?

Still reckon we should offer Pelter a contract.

I don't know if he wants to leave England or not, but at his age and with his consistent injuries I can't see many (decent) English clubs queing (sp?) up for his signature.

Perhaps in a lower league he could find a team.

Beats me. Maybe he thinks that McKain, Durante, Dodd, Sigmund are all sh*t and we need a much less experienced player to correct for that crapness?

Pelter could be an excellent player one day, but he needs to stay in England and get game-time in the lower leagues. Sitting on the bench back here (because he wouldn't get in ahead of the quartet that El Grap mentions) would do no-one any good.
Nix, Leyton Orient and Alloa Athletic supporting schmuck.

SE could end up at RBNY in the MLS for next season, Reyna has announced his retirement...otherwise i have a feeling a lower table championship team would prob pick him up

We have a solid defence, although I reckon it'd be good to try nurture our home talent.
Thats why.

Hi everyone.

Does anyone know what Mr. Elliot is upto right now.

On my copy of 09 he is a free agent and we are now half way through the northern season.  I remeber rumors linking him to Hull but I know he's not there.

Its a pitty he doesn't appear to be playing right now as he is aguable the second best AW at the moment (depending on how you compare him with say Killy).

Simon's been looking in the states and is probably going to sign for the galaxy for next season (although he's not that excited about it, apparently the club is a bit of a circus on the inside as you might imagine with Beckham). He was confident on getting a contract in the UK when he was released by Fulham but unfortunately despite some interest he never was able to nail anything down.

Hope that helps.

but just found this - MOTHERWELL have extended ex-Leeds United defender Byron Webster's trial spell at Fir Park. Well boss Mark McGhee wants to take another look at the player before deciding whether to offer him a contract. McGhee though has ditched interest in another trialist, ex-Fulham midfielder Simon Elliott. (Daily Star)

Interesting that he wasn't good enough for Motherwell, maybe he should return home or something?

Hmm sign Elliott... no!!

Too old and too injury prone, signing him at best would be rediculous in my opinion. I realise he was playing in the epl as recent as two years ago, but what has he done since then?

He played in a couple youth world cup games where he was totally outshone by Peverly. A young up and comer with a future ahead of him not behind him.

Johnson was and still is twice he player Elliott was aswell Proak.

Rubbish.  Be rid of Johnson and sign Elliot.  He'd push hard for a first team spot and even if he didn't get it he could play regularly in the youth team.  I would only give him a one year contract with the option of extending it though.

I agree with loyalgunner, i'd take Elliot over Johnson any day. In the world cup qual vs New Cal he was excellent. Been injury prone is a concern but when fit I think he would easily be in the starting 11.

Totally, he's had bad luck recently but I think he's over that now.  Would be arguably our best mid and he is awesome when it comes to set piece play.

TouchMe said  He (Elliott)  played in a couple youth world cup games where he was totally outshone by Peverly. A young up and comer with a future ahead of him not behind him.

Does anyone know if Peverley has any trials anywhere or is likely to go for any? It seems a shame as he is a good player but is not really developing much, only playing in the NZFC. I know the NZFC is NZ's top competition but my opinion is this competition is full of "has beens" who are the very reason why NZ soccer is developing at a very slow rate. I mean to say Ross Nicholson is a nice guy but when you see someone like that playing in your Country's Top League, it doesn't instill a lot of confidence in the calibre of the League.
There are so many young players who could easily play at this level but who don't get the opportunity because the Clubs keep sigining the old carthorses. (I have to say though, that Waitakere a pretty good as they seem to have given a lot of young players an opportunity and seem to be getting rewarded for it).

Uhhhhh I'm talking about their current team!  I know they had an old squad for the World Club tournament - in fact that's what I think is the problem with these NZFC clubs - when it comes to any crunch games or big tournies they think that only the old cart horses have the ability to do the job. Anyway when I watched them play Auckland City a few weeks ago, their playing team was quite young.

Krishna scored a couple for them last week I think.  He spent a while out prior to the World Club Championships due to visa challenges (I believe) but is playing pretty much every week now.
