According to the media very soon Ricki will be naming his top 25 for the world cup qualifiers, who do you think should be in the squad?

My choices are below:

Keepers: Moss, Paston, Spoonley

Defenders: Boyens, Mulligan, Lochead, Nelson, Old, Oughton, Pelter, Sigmund, Pritchett

Midfielders: James, Elliot, Bertos, Bouckenooghe, Brown, Vichlich, Christie, de Gregorio, Barron

Forwards: Killen, Smeltz, Brockie, Fisher,

And if Ricki could talk him around I wouuld put in Winston Reid for Pelter, and if his FIFA clearence came through Fallon for one of Sigmund, Barron or Pritchett.

If everyone is available. Ricki is going to have some good players to chose from. I think Ricki has more options than any previous NZ coach has ever had.
I would only point out, I am not sure if the likes of Nelsen will be coming back for 4 days to play Solomon Islands in October, Vanuatu for 4 days in November. Nelsen might get involved in 2008 Sept when we are likely to play Fiji before facing the 5th place asian team. I am guessing the order of the Island teams BTW.

Keepers: Moss, Paston, Spoonley

Defenders: Boyens, Mulligan, Lochead, Nelson, Old, Pelter, Sigmund, M Fitzgerald, Christie

Midfielders: James, Elliot, Bertos,  Brown, Vichlich, M White, Barron, Oughton

Forwards: Killen, Smeltz, Brockie, Coveny, Costa Barbouses

I can't wait for Ricki to name his squad.

The Fitzgerald thing.  He's gone to Japan on the back of Wynton.  I can name about 5 players that have gone overseas on the back of WYNRS and come to nothing.  Let's not get carried away.

I mean, by the same token Kayne Vincent left Auckland Grammar to go to Japan as well but he got dropped from the final U-20 squad.

Just thought it would be good to get 3-4 young players in the squad. Would be happy to see a draper, Boxall etc as well.

I thought Fitzgerald had been in Japan for about 3 years now. He has played himself into the J-league. I am pretty sure a big percentage of the Japanese team play in the J-League. It must be a decent enough standard?

It is.  Sorry, I get cynical when bombarded about WYNRS players heading overseas.  Part of the media fawning over Wynton we always see.

I shouldn't tar him with the same brush.  Personally I'd have Boxall ahead of Pelter but if he has signed with Sunderland I think we know which one we'll see.

Where is Boxall at the moment anyway? Has he gone to the US? Has he played any games for anyone since the U20 WC?
