On 2GB radio in Aus, Robbie Slater was asked about a local getting
a shot to coach the coach-less Socceroo`s, And he pointed out the
fact that almost all Aus coaches don't have much experience on a
international stage - anyway he said FFA had afew people lined up
and one of them is Wynton Rufer.
I respect Rufers playing career - Cant see him coaching Aus,
then again with so many world class players at his feet (If
he did get the job) anything is possible.

Actually Wynton's record as Kingz coach was pretty good. He
missed out on the top 6 play-offs on the last day of both seasons
and coached some superb victories. He also made some very odd
decisions.
It was after him it turned to sh*t.

Yeah I remember watching the Kingz play pretty decent under Rufer.
He was a player/coach right?
It was only the Kingz last year when they went down the gurgler. People are quick to include the Kingz with the Knights but I don't really think it's fair. The Knights were obviously a disaster from the start but the Kingz produced some good stuff.

Yeah... some of his play...
some
of his coaching...
Still the best finishes of any NZ side in 7 years, and probably 8 from where we are now. Year 9 though...

Shane had an excellent record for the Kings games where he was in charge.
