New Zealand Football insists talk of the All Whites playing a four nations football tournament in September as part of their World Cup qualifier buildup is extremely premature.
The United Arab Emirates Football Association website says New Zealand will play against Saudi Arabia, the United States and CONCACAF side Trinidad and Tobago.
NZF high performance manager Fred de Jong says nothing is set in stone.
"I think everyone's a bit early off the mark with this one.
"We haven't signed anything. We've spoken to people around about the tournament and it's one of the options that we have."
De Jong says they're not even close to sorting a deal, but it does have positives.
He says the proposal has some merit as they like the idea of playing Trinidad and Tobago, given they play in the same region where their World Cup qualifier opponent will come from.
"That's the big pull from a New Zealand Football perspective.
"But as I say, still early days."
The proposed tournament falls during a sanctioned FIFA window.

I propose test players like Henderson, Appiah-Kubi, Manko, Graham, Vincent... and couple players who play in all-white shirt: Fitzgerald, Old, Bright...

Hi Kris

Who the heck is Manko?
Auckland will rise once more
He is referring to Maksim Manko and this guy is either a mate talking him up or has no idea about him other than a name he saw. in NZ, Maksim is just another footballer.
Grumpy old bastard alert
Why would we play a whole bunch of reserves and stock level ASPB guys in a crucial (if it goes ahead) World Cup warm-up tournament?
Although it's clear he has no idea other than names, Steven Old, I mean, get real.

LOL!!

LOL!!
I wouldn't have a problem looking at anyone there except for Manko
But not all of them at once and not for that game. Under 20s would be better served playing Jordan
