Wow,
We have finally arrived in the Olympic village!
After all the preperation, we are here, to meet and greet the other NZ athletes before we head off to ShinYang for our first game vs. China!
You can check our progress of the recent indonesian tour at www.nzsoccer.com...
Even though we never won a game there, the point was for us to acclimatise in intense heat and humidity, and I think it worked, and will help us when we come up against Ronaldinho and the mob!
It's great to have 2 of the 3 overage players arrive, with the class of Chris and Simon really helping the boys lift their standards on and off the park! Ryan arrives the day after tomorrow, and will be the final peice in this pioneering puzzle!
We'll get the boys to upload photo's of the build up and the village ASAP!!

Great link to the official Beijing Olympic website, featuring the "New Zealand Poi dance" (aka haka), and the New Zealand women's field hockey team: the players look very much like our Football Ferns, with "pommie" coach John Herdman looking like he is hiding at the back!!
