The idea is that one half of the satdium supports Brazil and the other England.  I believe England will be one aisle around from the Fever Zone.

Brazil or England? Brazil or England? Brazil or England? Brazil or England?
This is hard....

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Thoroughly enjoyed the game.  Had a bit of an open mind about it but it was the best entertainment at the RoF so far this season! Surprisingly good quality maintained throughout.  3-0 a little flattering for England but thought they stepped up second half and Brazil heads dropped when England scored.  And it doesn't matter what level, seeing an England team and hearing the national anthem had a lump in the throat.  Once a Pom, always a Pom...

Final score? I'm still stunned by the goal and then wonder save in the first 5 mins.

Thought the Engerland capatain-o was great in first half and the CB in the second halfwas very impressive with some great sweeping on a couple of occasions.

I thought Carter looked knackered in the first 10mins of second half and then she cam alive.

Very impressed with technique and organisation of both teams. From the frst half of the KoreaVs Nigeria game I fancy both England and Brazil to do alright (I assume they are the group of 4), although the Nigerians did look impressively aggressive up front. Should be good to see it all unfold.

Only saw the second half of second game.  Nigeria looked average to me, the Koreans were all over them.  Nigeria scored against the run of play because of a slip up at the back.  Korea deserved a draw I thought.  11,500 total crowd for both games.

If you missed England v Brazil at the Stadium this afternoon, then in my opinion you possibly missed the most committed,full-paced,exciting and competitive game of any sport that might be held in Wellington this year.

I think Brazil were expected to beat England, and certainly looked they were going to early on as their wide-right made many an attacking run into the box.

Both sides played fine football, and it was very easy to forget they were just girls aged around 16. The tackling was committed on both sides, and  the stretcher bearers were busier than the hot dog sellers under the stands.

Brazil had 60% possession over the game, but as the game wore on it looked like either side could win it.

The England central defenders were exceptional, repulsing attack after attack from the Brazilians. (Jodie Jacobs and Gemma Bonner I think!)

And then, in no time at all England had scored two, both from fine incisive moves on the counter.
When the first was scored, the Brazilian goalie was injured, and her replacements first piece of work a minute later was to pick number two out of the net.

In the 89th minute , another fine move added number three as the Brazilians heads went down.

This game was played at what must surely be electrifying pace for 16 year old girls.

For me, the classiest player in the England side was the unfortunately named Jordan Nobbs (no 8) whose eager prompting in midfield showed maturity well beyond her years.

England v Nigeria at the stadium on Sunday could be the best $10 you have ever spent.

What an awesome day. Watching the Spurs spoil the Gunners party and Harry hotspurs reaction at the BB when it became 4-4 - I should have had my camera out. It was not just hystrical but historical too! The pate brunch before the BIG game was awesome, thanks BB, I shall be buying that dish again and again and again.

England V Brazil, great to see some many regulars make it. I hope the Nix players were watching, something to do about shooting from anywhere, not just waiting till you get in the 6 yard box. The Brazilian lady who hit the cross bar from around 30-35 yards (Note Nix midfeilders). Great stuff.

Korean Rep V Nigeria, given a green flag and saw them up after 27 seconds, disappointed the numbers dropped. Mind you 10,000 screaming school kids had gone. A second goal of quality about 70 mins in and then the Koreans with an excellent goal. I had a brilliant day and took lots of photos of the games which I hope to up load to my own site and a few on here.

Roll on Sunday. England V Nigeria at 1pm, The Nix to win in Perth and I turn too old!
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!
