This is, IMHO, a huge disappointment.

From the miscaptioned picture on 04, to multiple typos, missing lines of type and so forth, if this is the 'brightest and best' from Fairfax (06), they have a long way to go.

Take your pick for the worst howler .. possibly Ricki's age (09) ...

I haven't seen it yet.

hopefully the Dom will do better for us lucky enough to live in the place where our football team gets more fans per game than the rugby team

Cmon Dom - do us and your region proud!!

Hopefully the Waikato Times has whatever the Dom has. Although they'll probably chuck the Chiefs throughout it. Stupid Chiefs.

I can't believe what they used as "All White" shirts in the match profiles. Disgraceful. And saying the England goal by Martin Peters was in 1996. Laughable.

Its no longer a problem.

Have just gone and found a copy. Other than the two middle pages of the game schedule the rest was rubbish.
Elliott on profile page wasn't in an All White strip.
The photo stated as 1996 was of Geoff Hurst.

Yeah pretty average ,I always thought that Killen had played for a couple of Scottish clubs ,typos galore and lack of historical accuracy, England winning the World cup in 96 ,had a loud laugh at that one ! Kiwi Jambo2010-05-31 08:32:32

it must have been a secret world cup that no one else was invited to.

I've just had a good look at this and I can't believe that a national newspaper could produce something so amateur.
Typos galore, whole lines of text missing, pics wrongly captioned and statisical details wrong throughout. As Kiwi Jambo has mentioned, the details on Chris Killen are laughable. His spell on loan at Port Vale is worth including but his time at Celtic and Hibs isn't. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
If this is their attempt at showing what their coverage is going to be like then they've done themselves more damage than good.
Friggin' hopeless.
Nix, Leyton Orient and Alloa Athletic supporting schmuck.

Got the Heralds World Cup pull out yesterday and it is far superior to the Sunday Star times effort ,good photos ,good articles even the schedule chart  is more impressive  with clearer graphics and less insipid colours!

Also the last article by their Deputy sports editor is amusing if only for the  image of  what can only be described as  a generic Yellow Fever member eating popcorn and watching the telly!!
