Argh those damn vuvuzelas!
Makes viewing the games incredibly difficult. I hope they ban them but I don't see it happening. I was really looking forward to watching every game live at the WC next year but I don't think I will be able to handle it!!

Those horns have been part of SA football since god knows when. They're not going anywhere. I read an article in the FIFA magazine a few months back and a FIFA world cup exec was praising them, going on about how much atmosphere they add to a match!

Remember the whining about them at the Knights, mainly from TV audiences ?
So, who owned and ran the Knights ? South Africans...

The original CEO was also South African as well. It kind of all went wrong when he 2was replaced by local numpties who wouldn't know a football if they ate it. Katzen was the primary owner though, he owns a chunk of Swansea FC as well.

Fifa president Sepp Blatter told a media briefing he was aware of complaints the din of the instrument was drowning out the commentary of broadcasters
They should be encouraged then!!!!
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Here's a link to the FIFA site to tell them that it is a problem. The more comments the more likely they get rid of it for the World Cup Finals.
Just keep at the general enquries and write the message. It takes a minute.
Post it on a site or email it to your friends.

Alternatively, just wait for rivals fan fighting with them as a weapon so then it would get ban officially.
Anyone going over just to fake an injury to save the world from vuvuzelas terror?

Annoying as hell, but part of the culture. I'd say don't ban them, but don't encourage them. Have them unavailable for sale at the games. Then only local fans will have them. There'll be plenty at BafanaBafana games, hopefully much less at the other games.
Though I honestly can't see anything atmospheric from a constant drone of only one note...

I remember getting one of those type of horns on a trip to the Nou Camp. When we got back to Scotland me and my mates took them to 6 a side indoor tournament that SPL teams used to play in in the close season.
About 3 or 4 of us blasting away on them for the first couple of games - then a steward came up and told us if we didn't stop blowing them we'd be ejected as the players couldn't hear the refs whistle!.

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!

Vote to ban them!
http://www.banvuvuzela.com
It just started and it's near 20,000 votes. It would be sent to FIFA as a protest.
Notice that quite a number of the voters are from South Africa. The facebook group that was created to protest about those Vuvuzela are South Africans. It's a civil war. . . .
