Before NZF change the draw, is there a combo on the cards with two games in one city on the same day?  How far away is Newton Park.  Why isn't it just the curtain raiser?

I just looked on Wises.co.nz and you'll need to travel from one side of Wellington City to the other. Not walking distance but not too much of a drive.

Its a shame it wont be at the Ring of Fire cos I'm catching the train straight to the stadium (staying at a motel in Porirua) so won't be able to make it to Newtown Park.

Like yourself I would have thought it would be common sense to just play them at the same venue.

I would imagine there are cost logistics, sposorship logistics and a million challenges with playing it at the stadium.  As an example the A-League requires no curtain raisers within 90 minutes of the game.  Not much of a curtain raiser when it starts 3 and a half hours beforehand - and then what do people do for 90 minutes in the stadium ?  Plus if it rains and the pitch gets damaged and so on and so on...

There are plenty of buses and may well be direct ones running from town to Newtown and back to encourgae fans to do both.  Keep an eye on here because there are othwer events on that day as well - there is a street football bash in town and we're running another freestyle comp.

With the TeeDubs game being against Auckland City at Newtown Park at 2pm and the AWs game not starting until 8pm, there is plenty of time to take in both games...and a few refreshments along the way as well ...line 'em up, BigDunc!!
Should be a top football weekend.
Imagine how many Aucklanders will be in town for the AW game...Best all the Wellington fans front for Newtown Park first ..can't have Auks beating us( to the best chants) on home turf!!

Yeah, TeeDubs have moved it to allow for it to reduce a clash on the festival of football and allow people to get in to town early afternoon and still make it.

Watch this space team.
As it stands we have permission to close the road outside the bar for a street party before and after the All Whites game.
I am also getting 2 busses for the day to ferry people up to Newtown Park and back to Four Kings, then to the stadium.

Dont worry folks, Iv got it under control.

Is that confirmed HN?
Great if it is as quite a few ACFC fans arriving on 14:30 flight and would of missed 1st half of game

TeeDubs MAY have to be 16:00, but will definitely not be 14:00.

There is a competing booking for Newtown park.

Are international rules the same as the A league? Regarding no warm up matches before the game. The TW game played at the stadium before would be cool.
