Good to hear, I'm curious though as to whether CHCH or AKL would have been able to sell out given the interest this game had even before the game in Manama

Tim Brown massive driver of the One Shot campaign, PFA put money in it because they knew it would be good for them in the long run

I probably would've paid up to $100 (at a push) for a ticket for the game, so fair play to them.

Only $5 more than a Nix match. It has to have been the bargain of the century for those that went. You'd pay twice that to see an All Blacks test match which might explain why they struggle to sell out now. Compare the atmosphere?????

Right now NZF and the players are kicking rugbys ass all over the show in every capacity.

Grumpy old bastard alert

Those tickets were an outstanding deal. Would've paid 4 or 5 times the amount I paid to see that game. Keep it up NZF and the players.

That is an amazing gesture by the players and should be picked be picked up in by the news channels and reported.

Don't see the rugby boys doing anything like that, and never will!! Amazing generosity on their part!!

Its quite amazing really, it shows that these guys play for the shirt rather than the money.

At the practices chatting with the players I said that the stadium was going to seriously rock after being sold out. No one was left disappointed last night. That place was alive like I have never heard it before, not even Beckham. Regular users on here that were there can look back with pride on doing the All White players proud. They delivered on the field, we delivered off it. Those who could not make it, well, you got to witness something pretty damn amazing on your TV's and I hope you thoroughly enjoyed it.

One of the biggest advantages that New Zealand teams always have is no massive egos in the football side. They're a good bunch of lads all with one goal in mind, and it's all about the team. Very few international teams could truely say that everyone is on the same page all the time, but with us it's true.

Think someone's misinterpreted...

What the players (PFA) did was pay for the One Shot for Glory advertising campaign.  To the tune of over $100k I believe.

What NZF and the Stadium did together was set the ticket prices.

What Nike did was run out of All Whites strips and print BLACK One Shot for Glory shirts (not helpful for a WHITE OUT).  Also printed t shirts that said "white is the new black"...those t shirs were...black.  D'OH!

So massive ups for the players, NZF, and the Stadium.

Nike not so much.  Should hire Fever to run their football marketing.

Rugby sucks full stop, there numbers at events are dropping, too many rules. scrums that keep collapsing and wasting value time, and ppls patients. Football is the totally different.

With football, you get your full 90 minutes and some, even when the ball is out of play.

My understanding is they wanted the tickets set at a reasonable rate to make sure the ground was full. They didn't want to make money from the gate, their payday was coming if the team qualified and that was more likely with a sell out...

Excellent common sense approach if that's the case...
