Ticket Split - Should I worry?

I have mentioned this in another thread; however I now believe that thread to mainly be for people who have not yet got a ticket.

I am fortunate enough to have two tickets; one for me, and one for the lady. Problem was, when I was booking the ticket, we were debating whether or not to bring a little one along with us and in that five minutes the seat allocation had gone. However, I still clicked submit for two adult tickets and it all went through.

I got a nasty surprise when I got my e-tickets, with my seat being behind one goal, and the better half being at the other end.

I wasn't able to get hold of anyone at Ticketek at the time because it was the weekend and there was lots of ringing but no answering. I contacted them yesterday, very curious as to how this happened (usually it should hold for about ten minutes, then cancel the entire transaction causing you to have to redo the purchase), and were very apologetic and helped me as much as they could.

Unfortunately, due to it being a sell out, there wasn't a lot they could do. I now face the prospect of watching the game, whilst trying to pick out my fiances face at the other end of the ground.

I have been to sold out events before where similar things have happened, with many couples being split and there seems to be a natural re-coupling that takes place once people are in the ground and taking their seats; an unofficial seat swap between those who have been split up. However, I have yet to encounter such a thing at a New Zealand sporting event.

I am anxious that I am going to miss the game without being with my fiance, and vice versa. She is also 6 months pregnant, which adds to the anxiety!

Obviously what I am talking about here is against Terms and Conditions, therefore I completely understand peoples reluctance to post openly on such a matter, but it would be nice to have some piece of mind.

For the record: I am tremendously grateful to have tickets, and I have absolute sympathy for those who have missed out.

Mate, when the fresh allocation comes out, get in and buy 2 together. Then put your others on Trade Me, they will sell, and if they dont, so what? At least you will have enjoyed the night ( but don't worry they will sell if you offer them at the going rate)

That's what I am thinking of doing. Problem is, I have e-tickets.

I suppose I got get them redone as normal tickets, but I really can't be arsed.

To be honest, thats a bit of a ticketek screw up dont you think? Id be demanding replacement tickets in the extra seating at no extra cost. Keep ringing them.

Allegedly

It probably will be. And it was. I am not having a go at Ticketek for this, just one of those things.

They have tried very hard to find side-by-side seats for us, at the time there just weren't any available then.
