Sauce being the boy himself... all good though, Browninho will be going direct to SA (via Sydney and/or Perth of course).

"I heard all your prayers and he will be ready"

-[undisclosed God]

I'm sure straight after the surgery, he is back on the plane and getting some altitude training with the squad. Should be ready at least by the Italy game.

BELIEVE IT.

Maybe HE only just heard about the FFA's spoof Newspaper headline displayed on the MCG big screen?

Sack ricki. I have this opinion because the Herald said it,and they know lots about soccer as theyve been covering it for years. Tegal2010-05-27 14:35:43

If Timmeh won't be right for the Cup, then our prayers and offerings to the Gods will be shown as inadequate, and I volunteer to offer up the still-beating heart of Chris Rattue.

Tegal: you mispelled "Sack Ritchie". Hope this helps.Doloras2010-05-27 14:36:15

It's also the same green and gold devil that nailed Bertos in the game.

Tegal, you have been sucked in by the green and gold Trolls. You need more patience and faith.

Story here

I have a one-arm team mate and he is class. Lots of pace and skills.

hmm, maybe they should remove Tim's arm altogether?

ALL THE BEST TIMBO, you will make it man, I feel it!

Just imagine the size of the lucky bandage then!

We'd get through to round 2 no worries.

Could they freeze it and reattach after the WC?  This option should be given some serious consideration.

All Whites vice-captain Tim Brown underwent successful shoulder surgery today but it is too soon to tell if he can be fit for next month's soccer World Cup.

(source)

Oooh, lookit, he's had screws put in. I always thought Brownie deserved a good screw or three. So anyway, the word is that he'll go back to the doc in a week and find out then whether South Africa is a goer. Positive vibes, sacrifices to Horus etc. must continue until then.Doloras2010-05-27 17:34:54

Personally even he is not 100 per centfit I think they (coaching staff) will take him.

Pump him full of pain killers and anti inflam and let him loose... i imagine Tim will be happy enough for that.

Nix fans wont like this, but if you offered him that and a second operation that would sideline him for half the season at the nix he'd take it... afterall he may never get the chance to play at the wc again.

No wouldn't like it at all, but you are right, for the player it must rank as the best thing that happens in a career

Did not see the game were the Aussies as dirty as people say?

(I'm british and will watch the match this weekend).

My big worry would be, should Timmy take the field, some of those dirty guys from the other teams would deliberately target his shoulder. For that reason, and I hate to say it, I don't think he should go unless he is sure he won't feel any pain if some cheating Eyetie shoulder-charges him.

according to the Herald (whom i don't regard as at all believable because they can't even get the name of our sport correct)he's due for a check-up in a week

luckily a more intelligent media outlet - RNZ said something similar so I'll believe the RNZ story

According to his press conference this morning we will know by 10 June if he's going or not. Sounded very optimistic about it.

Yes ... BT said on RNZ at lunchtime that Timbo was pedalling furiously on an exercise bike and was about to resume some heavier work. He sounded reasonably optimistic. It's not all over yet .. come on, Timmy!

Rehabilitation progressing well for Tim Brown

Eight days after surgery to repair his fractured shoulder, Tim Brown is continuing to maintain a positive outlook and is progressing well with his rehabilitation programme. The injury was sustained after falling heavily in a challenge with Australian player Vince Grella.

All Whites team doctor, Celeste Geertsema, is very pleased with the way Tim has responded to treatment and the way his rehabilitation is progressing.

"Tim has been reviewed by the surgeon yesterday and his progress has been excellent. He has already embarked on a rehabilitation program and this will be progressed over the next week.  We are all very pleased with the speed with which he is recovering and we remain optimistic that he will be able to join the team in South Africa. However, he will be re-assessed on Wednesday 9 June, and a decision regarding his availability for the World Cup will only be made at that stage."

Tim is maintaining a positive mindset and is pleased with his progress to date.

"I'm really happy with the way things have been going. I hope to fit four weeks of rehabilitation into a week and things are going as well as can be expected at this stage, but there is still a way to go. Hopefully I can continue to progress at the rate I have been over the last seven days."

Brown is now out of his sling and is undertaking daily physiotherapy along with fitness training including cycling on a stationary bicycle and walking. Brown is due to start running tomorrow and is focusing on achieving daily improvements.
