I'm sure many of you have read this article on the main page...

It makes reference to a couple of players that I would like to see gain NZ citizenship; Vince Lia and Manny Muscat.

If you were them would you take up the offer to play for Malta and never head anywhere as a nation or would you try for NZ citizenship and maybe play a bit part in NZ international football?

Tough one... with Malta you get full World Cup and Euro qualifying tournements, plus from being part of Europe a few big name friendlies as well... I'm not sure how much more attractive playing for New Zealand would be. Maybe a slightly better chance of getting to the World Cup... (nil for Malta, slight for us).

Malta sure ahs a better climate than us, anyway.

Why would the likes of Muscat and Lia apply for NZ citizenship? They are Australians (it seems possibly with Maltese heritage) playing in an Australian league.
 
I voted Malta Now for the reason that they would get regular quality games, which would help make them even better footballers, whereas NZ's schedule is patchy except for Confed Cup years.

Would love them for NZ, but for them personally Malta would be a better choice.

Easy question - Malta for sure.  Regular qualifying games in europe give exposure one could not buy.
