With our young women doing so wel in Aus recently
, I thought I might find out a bit more about the WC.

Here is the schedule:
I assume NZ will be in Group A. If that is the case Wellington has a 50-50 chance of hosting one of their games.
Anyone know when the draw will be made?

NZ will be A1 - that has already been determined. The draw will be held at Te Papa in Wellington on 2 June, and that will give our initial three opponents in Group A.

Further to Graham's posting, Wibblebutt, the Young Ferns will play the opening game of the tournament at 7pm on October 28 at NHS.
They'll play their second group game there at 4pm on November 1, and play their final group game at the same time on November 4, this time at the Caketin.
Should they secure a top-two placing in their group, they'll remain in Wellington for their quarter-final on November 8.
Then semis in Christchurch on November 13, and the final and third place play-off in Auckland on November 16.
Cheers,
JR

Further to my own posting, it's safe to say there'll be no Phoenix home games in the A-League between October 29 and November 10 at the earliest.
As it's a World Cup Finals tournament, FIFA commandeer the stadia involved for the duration of the finals, and no other event can take place at the venue during this period. Ditto no advertising hoardings other than those of FIFA's family of sponsors, etc., etc.,

Cheers for that SK. Bring it on I say. Will be great to see a major competition again in NZ. Hopefully the public turn out for it, although I'm not sure they will...
