Credit to NZF for offering this service to those outside NZ who were unable to get regular televised coverage - it's a very good idea. However....

... I had some problems and, judging by a few comments in the match thread, others did too. After seeing a bit of the pre-match stuff my connection dropped out and, after much cursing, I just switched to the Radio Sport commentary (Pine & Chote are great though).

I accept that my internet connection may have been part of the problem, though I'm generally able to view other streams online without too much trouble. I'm not sure how these things really work so I'm not sure if there is a bigger problem?

Considering there are some important games later in the year that have the potential to be shown online live and legal, I thought it might be worth giving NZF and VPTV a bit of feedback - good or bad - so that they can offer the service again.

If I can be sure my internet can handle it, I'd definitely be prepared to pay and give it another go.

Overall, very happy that this was offered - I have been thinking to myself that they should do this for ages, but just thought maybe it wasn't as simple to set up as i thought and that the number of people who would be prepared to pay wouldn't be enough to warrant it.

was a bit dissapointed at how often it had to buffer, and judging by comments from others, this was a problem at the VPTV end, not mine - maybe more people signed up than expected and that created problems?  i wonder if they will publish how many people tuned in?

it was also a bit dissapointing that when i refreshed at half time, it didn't catch up to being live again (making me late for work), i think this also highlights that the problem was at the VPTV end?

given this was a first (well, at least for NZF, live streaming is nothing new) hopefully the service will improve in the future.

final negative comment is the cost - and it is only a negative comment because all the buffering made it a bit of a rip off, would have been a fair price otherwise, and in truth i would probably pay for future games even if there was no improvement.

Kudos NZF for making this available, hopefully the quality will improve and this will be offered for all future matches, will definitely watch most of the OFC nations cup games if available.
