A MOUNTAIN TO CLIMB: It's been suggested modifying the Westpac Stadium to give the All Whites a chance tonight.

WORDS OF WISDOM FROM JIMMY CLIFF:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSWvhhu24YA

Rome was not built in a day
Opposition will come your way
But the hotter the battle you see
It's the sweeter the victory, now

You can get it if you really want
You can get it if you really want
You can get it if you really want
But you must try, try and try
Try and try, you'll succeed at last
Look here

Persecution you must bear
Win or lose you've got to get your share
Got your mind set on a dream
You can get it, though harder they seem now

GO ALL WHITES !!!

Like the look of the side just named - no dead wood like before (a metaphor - no ref to our beloved Leicester striker), more attacking.

I remember the All Whites World Cup qualifier v Australia in Auckland in 1989 when we were out of the reckoning in a group with Australia & Israel. John Adshead's team had lost 4-1 in Sydney. So only a small crowd of a couple of thousand turned up - and the game was bizarrely played as a curtain-raiser before an All Blacks test. Australia thought qualifying for the next round was a formality - but boy, did they get a surprise that day! The All Whites outplayed them and won 2-0 knocking Australia out of the World Cup!

Ricki Herbert played that day, as did De Jong & AW's goalkeeping coach Gosling: New Zealand Line Up: Clint Gosling, Ricky Herbert, Garry Lund, Malcolm Dunford (Tony Levy 79'), Tommy Mason, Noel Barkley (Danny Halligan 74'), Robert Ironside, Michael Ridenton, Billy Wright, Fred De Jong, Darren McClennan. Goals : Dunford 19' Wright 80'
