They even manage to get a camera down to the pre-season a-league games most of the time. Brockie has a habit of scoring crackers in games that dont matter..

Just got back.

First thing I gotta mention is that the crowd was way bigger than I expected. I estimate it at about 3000 - 3500 and that is somewhat conservative considering pretty much all seating was taken and 5000 is capacity for douglas field.

First half was scrappy till the last 10 minutes or so, Siggy header off upper bar in the last minute. I don't know what Ricky did at half time but its as though someone shoved a rocket up the AWs arse - Brockie from 30+m out. Then a few more great goals, Kosta and Timmy. Waitakere grabbed one near the end.

There was several cameras (of the video variety ;)) so footage of Brockie's screamer should come up sooner or later.

Also, back from the game. Decent performance from the All Whites. Crowd was good considering it was Wednesday night and raining (as always in Waitakere), crowd was mostly Waitakere fans (obviously as well as being All Whites fans).

Was at a "VIP" event prior, was there for drinks and nibbles, but left as soon as presentation started. Nabbed a goodie bag and went to trusts stadium.

TV3 showed three of the goals on Firstline this morning.  I'm sure it will be loaded onto their website at some stage.

Dominated the 2nd spell. McGlinchey, Siggy and Ivan best performers for me.
Kosta with nice finish for his goal but not involved a lot otherwise.
Brockie great strike. Brown looked short of a run but picked up 2nd half and good header for his goal.
Thought Tim Payne was playing well for Waitak but subbed at half time.

Agree with this - Ivan was solid at the back and McGlinchey had great control, took players on and has an accurate pass... Makes you wonder why he didn't get a game in the WC?

Im hearing about solidity at the back, but I also heard about several one-on-ones with moss... doesn't sound quite right?

Only a couple of one-on-ones? Ivan was a beast in the air, and Waitak fell into a trap of hoofing it long everytime  Played well in the first half, probably almost shaded it, until Siggy scored. We never really looked likely to get into the game after that, and the AW's scored some nice goals. Brockie, woah! And Kosta's finish was naize. McGlinchey was really good, especially put in a nice ball for Timbo's goal (I think it was him?). Agreed about the crowd, gotta be happy with that, even if it was notoriously quiet... And yeah, sicks Payne was subbed, especially to be replaced by Coombes.

Made up Waitak scored though, defo deserved a goal for the first half efforts. An (obvious) class apart though.

Also mistaking Siggy for Smeltz for the first goal, pretty clear it was Siggy who powered it home.

Defence was generally solid and I dont remember Ivan or Siggy getting beaten in a one-on-one at all. In those conditions though there's always going to be the odd ball scoot through to present an opening.

Yeah, and "And its 2-0 to the All Whites, I just need the goalscorer to turn around and I can tell you who it is.. Yeah, it was Jeremy Brockie."

Exactly! Top quality stuff from him.

Yeah, for sure, although Siggy did get booked for losing out to Krishna (I think it was?). Yeah, the Waitak chance fell through fairly fortunately.

so did we play the 343?

If so, I assume lindsay was in defence?

So who played up top with Smeltz and Kosta? And on the flanks we had Brockie, McGlinchey or Clapham?
