Wonder if the delay is whether Herdman is getting offered an extension for Canada. Did well in qualifying but I guess underachieved at the World Cup.

Also heard it was China coming down which should be very winable.
Dunno, Since 2000 we have 3 draws and a loss against them.

We are ahead of China as a footballing nation right now and friendly results should never be used as a barometer for ability

"We are ahead of China as a footballing nation right now..." What is that based on? Our lack of ability to qualify for the last 3 world cups or the fact we do not have any players starting for any top team in any of the top leagues anywhere in the world? Also if we can "never" use friendlies as a barometer for ability, should we then use World Cup qualifiers against Oceania? In the last 5 all whites matches they have not been able to score, is that not a good indicator of ability? They could not score against Costa Rica and they could not score against anyone else in a friendly. So what exactly is the barometer for NZ footballing performance? China drew with Australia, Saudi Arabia and Oman during World Cup qualifying scoring in all the games. Seriously, how are we ahead of them?
