He won a J1 title. There’s no way he’d be able to do that as a caricature of a Gordon Ramsey type boss.
He’s obviously got a good football brain, was a good passer of the football, and is also a good motivator of people. He’s won titles in Aussie and Japan. That puts him behind only Ange in terms of Aussie coaching success, surely?
The only thing that wouldn’t make sense is his applying for the NZ job, unless he’s looking at the quality of players available and thinking a good WC run could be translated into a good country or club job somewhere?
