feel for Old missing out on the squad all together. I thought he did well when he came on last game.
Much better starting lineup than last game which is good to see. De Jong benched as he should be along with Ingham, and Howieson - order has been restored.

Old bought energy against PNG, but got muscled off the ball about 3 times. Still great learning experience for him being amongst some older heads etc for a week.

nice early chance for Wood, expect a goal or two from his head today, he towers over the fijian backs.

Actually a fan of the back five, that'll be solid as against a good pair of strikers. Niko Kirwan and to a lesser extent De Vries can do the whole attacking fullback thing anyway, and you've also got creative mids in Lewis, Stamenic and wherever Kosta is playing. Then Waineo and Wood... that's a clinical strike partnership.

back five against a weaker team like Fiji is really 3-5-2 with attacking wing backs,

looks like we are playing 3-4-3 with Kosta, Wood and Waine upfront, on attack at least, defensively we got to 5-3-2

At least Wood isn't being starved of delivery and chances for once. Hopefully something opens up soon. Most involved I've seen Kirwin in the black shirt as well. He's looking keen as to get amongst it.

Wood's looking in a bit of pain with his shoulder...

Almost constant pressure this game so far, Fiji really struggling... surely the dam bursts and we get the opener before half time this time.

Kirwan seems to clearly be the number 1 right full back now which was a weak spot in the team not long ago. That winner he got for the All Whites seems to have given him confidence, he's also scored a few for his Italian club lately, seems to have an eye for goal.

Between him & Payne I reckon. Payne has only just arrived. Suspect he will start at RB verus New Caledonia.

But they are the likely two RBs now in a 23 man squad. And when you compare them to Cacace on the left, still a 'weaker' position for AWs.

bit of heat in some of the Fijian tackles, I'd expect nothing less but some of our boys are not enjoying it.

He's better than that Qatar-loving "everyone should come to Qatar" clown we had last game.

Fiji playing with 10 behind the ball on defence, including Krishna.
Just blocking up any way through to goal at the moment.
Hay is going to have to change things up at half time to break the Fijians defence down.

Waine had enough time and space he could of taken that down with his chest instead of header from that distance. Easy from the couch as I drink beer at 6.45am though...

Fiji have made this a decent half, they've defended gallantly, much like we do against stronger opposition.
As I type, Wood scores with his head, as expected from a set piece.
We've kept Fiji's attack pretty quiet, Krishna hasnt seen any action at all.

GOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLL!

Suspect we just needed that first. The floodgates may well open now. One brings two etc...

The kiddos seem to have treated me to them sleeping in this morning. Now that I've seen a goal I'm content if they get up soon and I miss the second half.

Hopefully now they’re behind Fiji can’t just sit 6 players in the box and play for the draw so the game should open up a bit.

Watching the OFC stream. Refreshing to have a commentator that calls the match. Even if he's not totally familiar with all the players. Rather than talk over the top of the action like one particular NZ commentator.

Though for them GD may come into it if they draw their last game against PNG, ie both on 3 points, for 2nd spot in the pool. So they may continue to park the bus.

But I guess if Fiji & PNG do draw their last game, it goes to pens to find a winner. Just as a guess.

Yeah honestly we've completely dominated them, that goal was coming especially with the danger we possess on set pieces. Chris Wood coulda had two or three but he gets in handy positions.

Fiji can't buspark anymore now so no doubt we can nab at least one more on the counter. Get Garbett/Champness/Rogerson off the bench (not sure the Danish based boys need to play) and their pace and eneergy will kill a tiring trailing Fiji in the second half.

like any of these games we are expected to win, its really just how we do it. We should have scored more in the first half, Wood could have had 4, Waine should have done better with his header. This Fiji side is unlikely to test our defence - they dont even seem to have pace on their side. As long as we come away with the win, a clean sheet and injury free in a game that we'll dominate I'm happy.

have to say I think Lewis has been much better this game, I think having Stamenic beside him has helped.

Absolutely clinical turn and finish from Just there. With the amount of power he hit that I thought he was gonna complete sky it.

And just as a type Chris Wood with the All time goalscoring record for the AW's. Well done lads!

that is much better,
3-0 is what we deserve with the chances we've created. Rogerson and Garbett on for Stamenic cna Wood.
Just's goal was very nice and Wood's second was well set up.

Looked like nothing at first but on replay Fiji keeper jumps in Logan with his foot. Fair penalty, and awesomely tucked away by Clayton.

Very good allround performance from us, completely dominated first half, caught them when we needed to second half and showed off the gap in class when on the ball. Maybe they had a bit more attacking play than PNG but only forced one good save out of Oli Sail.
