After three draws, we have three points, zero goal difference.

This means that so far, resultwise, we are at least better than:

1.) France, Algeria, Nigeria on one point.

2.) Italy on two points.

3.) Greece on three points but on -2 goal difference.

4.) Serbia on three points but on -1 goal difference.

That is 6 teams worse than us at the moment.

Looking ahead:

If Japan or Denmark don't draw, then one of them will have at least a -1 goal difference and so will be worse than us, whilst the other will be better ->50/50 chance

Cameroon needs to beat Netherlands by 2 goals to match us or 3 goals to be better than us. -> unlikely chance

Korea DRK has to beat Ivory Coast by 8 goals to match us or 9 goals to better us.->unlikely chance

Ivory Coast has to beat Korea DRK to better us. A draw means they are worse than us.->50/50 chance

Switzerland has to draw or win against Honduras to do better. -> likely a draw and have 4 points. A lost means at least a -1 goal difference -> unlikely chance.

Honduras has to win by 4 goals to do better by goal difference ->unlikely chance.

Prediction:

We will more than likely end up better than Cameroon, Korea DRK, Ivory Coast and Honduras.

Therefore we are likely to be placed about 22nd out of 32 finalist in the 2010 World Cup Tournament.

Does that feel good?? That is 6 places away from the round of 16.

amazing - the odds of us being last would've been very good before Slovakia game

Does this change our FIFA ranking?

Hopeful. I did hear Ricki on the radio saying we might move up 4 or 5 places
There were alot of teams going up or down 20 ranking places after the last world cup, heres hoping.

The higher we can get the better the chances of players picking up European contracts. Remember the hassle Ryan Nelson had because our ranking was so low.

A dog with a bone :)

Look at the teams that went through unbeaten and you can see the group we are in.

If Germany wins the World Cup, the All Whites will be the ONLY unbeaten team at the 2010 World Cup

Spain were beaten by Switzerland.

I think Manbeast meant that if Spain won the same logic would apply.

Three for me, and two for them.

Well spotted Ahmad.

The Cronuses were just discussing the very same thing over an early glass of wine! Now what an amazing achievement THAT would be!

Yes, at the end, there can only potentially be two unbeaten teams. Us --- and the winners, who may of course have already been beaten in group play.

YOU BEAUTIES!!!!!!

Not necessarily - an undefeated team may be knocked out on penalties in the knock-out stages (such games are officially counted as draws).

We will place 22nd, with Australia 21st. Denmark 25th, Italy 26th and France 29th - assuming Honduras and North Korea lose tonight.

Not bad considering one of the goals against us was a dubious penalty. And having beaten Serbia in a friendly (12th ranked team) before the tournament. All in all mission objective achieved. No 7-0 thrashings/humiliations.

Great stats there AWB. Nelsen on Prime suggesting that he felt he and 'they' had let us down by not winning. Ryan, you and the team didn't let anyone down, you all did yourselves and youre country proud. You guys can all walk around with your heads held up high.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

How are Denmark and Australia level when Australia gained more points?

Three for me, and two for them.

Um.. Buffon?

No, ill handle this-  England finish the tournament with 5 pts (NZL had three)

Also, they managed to get out of their group, which we failed to do. So no, we are not better than England

Well done Salmon, all by yourself this time

Nah, we aren't better than England mate, but on the showing of both teams at this World Cup we aren't too far off.

Three for me, and two for them.

I was joking, but I think we'd give a run for their money on current form.
