interesting that our TAB ranks us less likely than the international agencies. TAB started at $7 for the first game and ended up about $5 for the NZ win

Taking the weighting off the BetWin site it's NZ 46% to win, Bahrain 28% to win, 26% draw after 90 minutes.

Remove the weighting from the TAB and its around 55% to Bahrain and 45% AWs to go through.

Essentially the TAB are saying if we are drawn after 90 mins, they favour Bahrain (28+26= roughly the same number).  Frankly I think we have the better stamina and Bahrain blew their best shot.  I can't wait for our goalfest to start.  Roll on the AWs at the WC.

Bahraini cheating + Smeltz factor + timing of Wood's introduction + state of Nelsen's back + 85% chance of sh*tty WLG weather + Ricki's formation + Baharaini striker choking + sell out crowd = tightness

The odds given here were "to progress to next round". Bahrain have a big advantage here because any draw (other than 0-0) means they go through, therefore they have way more chance. Only a win for us will do.
Odds stacked in their favour........

Until we win

I tend to disagree. If an international agency has us at 5/4 to win, then even taking the away goals draw disadvantage into account, they are saying we are a very good chance.

I think with a full squad, and if we had the opportunity to play at home ever, we would rank in the 70s somewhere. And we're at home - go us!

Best. Match. Preview. Ever.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

It's 50/50 at best.

With no away goal we have very little margin for error.

Dare I compare it to Waitakere United against Kossa(Solomons), where we lost up there 3-1 in the heat and came back to thrash them 5-0.  So that was regional footie, but you get my point.  They're good, but seriously so are we, especially down the sides.

Very shaky comparison. Almost entirely irrelevant.
