Talk round the office centred on crowd predictions- got me to thinking what YF is really planning to do, and i have been getting into the polls lately
so please cast your vote

Allowed multiple votes so you can chopose multiple games

also interesed in predictions for crowd size for each game

I'm aiming to go to all of them. Don't think we'll see good crowds on weekdays, but weekend games could be ok.

are schools doing any stuff to support the tournament?

The major push for ticket sales in Wgtn has centred on match day one. Using the model developed for the Beckham training day WCC and FIFA are bussing in 6,000 school kids, proviiding entertainment and giveaways on the concourse.

Should YF and the football community respond to this game we should crack 10,000 providing a really good atmosphere and ensure the young kids are hooked on the tournie-returnign with their parents for later games.

I reckon we'll get 10,000 for that first game-this may even be the biggest crwod of the tournie-but i hope not.

Good poll Salmon07. I hope to make them all and my shifts may just allow it. I should spare a thought for my poor wife with all this on.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Why just Wellington?

Full match reports on the 20 matches at which I'll be in attendance, plus TV reports on the other 12, will appear on www.sportswebsoccer.com throughout the course of the Finals.

And there'll be the odd interview with a footballing "name" too. FIFA's President won't be the only noteworthy heading this way inside the next three weeks, believe me!

Cheers,

I'm going to all the Wellington matches except for Sunday - when I'll be in Auckland running the marathon again. So I'm going to the Auckland matches on Saturday to make up for it.

Going off-topic, but:
The only concern I have really is that I drink carbo-loading fluid in the three days prior to a marathon. I have a set amount to consume each day and it's best to drink it evenly throughout the day. Of course, they won't let me take that into the stadium so I will either have to binge drink the stuff afterwards or smuggle in the powder to make up the fluid once I'm in the stadium. I'm also going to have fun eating - that crap at the stadium is hardly appropriate.

Is the North Harbour Stadium as bad at providing food options and allowing you to take in water as Wellington?

Food options worse, water possibly.  Depends who FIFA have as guard dogs.

EG, they are talking 6-10k school kids for the game on Thursday.
