Maybe Herbs was giving Sigmund a start in the big time to see how
he goes. New Phoenix signing?
Siggy is an absolute nutter who would die on the park every game (hopefully not before the final whistle). Totally committed and would only get better playing at a higher level. As good a signing as Barron would be. How could someone who played that well against the likes of Giggs and Bellamy NOT be considered for a contract? In fact sign the whole starting 11!
Heard today (Star Times newspaper) Siggy is in discussions with
Nix. Can anyone confirm?
I know someone who might know, but might take a day or two to get hold of him.
It feels great to at last have some options in certain positions. There is also the possibility of Vicelich playing centre-back, so that's Nelsen, Boyens, Sigmund, Old and Vicelich and not a dud like Bunce or Hay in sight. I bet Hay wishes to god that he'd gone on tour now. Surely his days of living off his 4 EPL appearances are over now.
Interesting see sigmund ahead of old in line up.
if ricki rates sig ahead of old in the national lineup why is
it that old has a contract and sigmund doesn't?
Christie was no where, but not really his fault, he's not a
right mids a hole, but he worked hard in stopping attacks down his
flank, so defensively he was ok.
Pritchett is coping a bit, unfairly i think. He worked hard on
Giggs all day and both goals came from pases in from Locheads side
not his. Giggs had to go to the right to get some more time and
space.
Agreed though he doesn't always know what to do with the ball
at feet, made good forward runs then gave it way for some reason...
brain explosion.
Great result, a nelsen boyens cb combo is great news... no
room for Hay... Yay.
Ricki completely lost faith in Old during the Latin America tour but I'd say Ricki sees a future in him and no doubt he will get another crack with the All Whites.
Boyens and Nelsen centre back combination would be great -
World cup qualifiers we will see it I suspect.

I agree Boyens and Nelsen at centre back is going to be a good mix.
Hay can be a fifth string back up if needed, when his wife isn't
popping out anymore kids and his ankles don't need ice on them
after every 5 secs. Looking at our options at Centre back even if
Nelsen is unavailable, we should have enough cover. I think Hay can
safely retire leaving his position in good hands.

I think Sigmund would be well worth picking up a contract with the
Phoenix. His only flaw was when every he intercepted or one a ball
in the air. He tended to only end up knocking it to a welsh player.
Overall, He played well and deserves a shot with the Phoenix or
better.
