He wouldn't even let her attend the trial, thats not rating a player thats just not giving them an opportunity, and that is BS (in my opinion).

It is not just this team that frustrates me, its other girls that have never been given an opportunity, and those that have been asked to move north and when they haven't its the end of their national selection. Most of this obviously parochialism but I also think we have such a small population/player base that the last thing we need to do is not look at players just because of where the live. And while I'm drifting off topic wtf is with canning the National League for an U19 league with 3 overage players?

Right I'm stopping myself here before I blow a valve and go completely off topic.

I still hope the girls do well

Well thats a good start so far, the young ones showing our older teams that passing football is within our abilities and the long ball sh*te is a waste of time. NZ looking the better side so far.

New Zealand goal! 1-0. Kate Loye pops in a rebound from a cross. We're totally dominant. Footpaul2010-09-07 11:16:26

That Pattison girl is quality. The whole side is showing a lot more composure than most New Zealand sides do on the ball.

The team trying to play quality football is leading 1-0 and its a NZ side. Love it. Venezuela are rattled and fouling us all the time.

All the flair, clever turns, tricks and clever passing coming from NZ, Venezuela living on the counter attack and long ball. If our coaches believe in our players we can actually play quality football. Love what Im watching. Scoreline totally unfair.

I think women's football has come a long way in a short time. I remember watching the U17 WC four years back, and while the girls played really well for the most part, their shots on goal lacked venom. Whether it is technique or strength, judging from the last 45 minutes, the girls have much more power in their shots and clearances.

They're also playing with a lot more composure and the passing and ball control is much higher. Now just to get back in front in this game!

It must be backwards day!

60% possession to us at half time.

Love it, hope our other international coaches are taking notes.

With the way Venezuela are fouling and diving in it might be an idea to get the ball to players feet in the box.

Seriously the quality of our passing and movement is 1st class. Hope the girls get what they deserve out of this game. they deserve a win here.

That sucks. We've been by far the better team. Football is not always fair, this is certainly one of those occasions.

Let's get back in there girls!
