4 nil at half time to us.  The 4th goal was a howler from the Tahitian keeper.  She won't want to see that again.

Went to make toast and missed the 4th goal.  And that's how it ends.

New Zealand have booked their place in the semi-finals of the OFC U-19 Women’s Championship in Tahiti after a gritty 4-0 victory over New Caledonia at Stade Paea.

Head coach Callum Holmes rotated his squad heavily, making six changes from the side that swept past Tahiti 7-0, while New Caledonia counterpart Leon Waitronyie introduced three new faces to his starting XI.

Same as Greenacre with NZ mens U20s. Both coach the Nix Reserves teams.

I thought this ream.played some really good football but lacked a killer instinct in front of goal. Brill for me was our best player until Daisy Brazendale came on. She is a class above.

Who does Lyon play for? Would be worth a weeks trial with the Nix if she’s not already with the club? She reminds me of Clegg

To answer the question here, West Coast Rangers (must be well over 50 appearances in 4 seasons in the 1st team), and prior to this year  as well MAGS 1st XI that was always there or thereabouts.  Golden boat at NZSS in 2022 (although like Millie when she won in 2019, boosted tally against a weak team in one game!)
Very different player from Millie Clegg though.  Millie can't play with her back to goal, whilst Emily can.  I'd back Emily over Millie to get through a defender to a less than 50/50 ball.  Was surprised that she was not included in the U17 team that went to India a few years ago (or U20 to Colombia last year)  with Millie playing off Emily shoulder as I would say their skillsets complement one another.

And Lyon pokes it in to make it 2-0 in the 35th minute.

NZ lead 3-0 at halftime after Lyon got her second. Daisy Brazendale picked up a yellow and (separately) New Caledonia had a player stretchered off, although I didn't see her go down.

Although Neary hasn't had much to do so far, New Caledonia are no slouches - they've thrown bodies into defence to deny us repeatedly, and while they've only had a few breaks to counterattack they show the potential for being dangerous.

I forgot this was on today. Good to see we are leading.

All done and dusted.  We didn't add anymore goals but NC did seem to venture into our territory more than we would have liked.

That NC free kick in the dying moments was pretty hairy, but Neary was up to it. Mack Greene player of the match.

On to Poland in 2026!
